Happy Belated Birthday Breezy! I am so sorry I missed wishing birthday wishes on the actual day.

To those who read about bad CL reviews at the Poly you will also find bad reviews of every CL on property. I have stopped reading those and want to find out for myself.

On a different note, dd had surgery on both eyes yesterday and is in severe pain. Does anyone know how to get a 7 year old to let you put the ointment in their eyes?

As a nurse and mom to a 7 year old DS. I find wrestling him down works best along with not making it optional. He can't stand for me to mess with his eyes. Hope she feels better soon.

You poor DD! Can she have tylenol or some OTC med to help aleviate the pain and then try and get her to calm down enough by a book or her favorite movie or music? I find that with my DD, who is all about drama, I have to really spend time in a calm enviorment to get her to trust me that what I am doing will help her feel better. She had an outer ear infection after our last trip that needed ear drops and she too was is serious pain. It was so hard to get her to let me administer the meds. I feel for you. I hope she is out of pain soon

I agree taylor...there are bad reviews of all CL resorts (as well as good). For some reason the Poly seems to get hit the hardest but as in lots of things in life you can love it or hate it. This thread is filled with Poly lovers. We always welcome a honest Poly opinion good or bad.

If I heeded all the negative reviews on the DIS, I would have set set foot at the Poly. But I experienced it to myself and the rest is history.

Thanks for the bday wishes. I  the Poly FAQ!

When I needed to get ointment in my son's eyes which was often, I found you just need to get a small bit of it anywhere along the eyelid line. No need to touch the eyelid at all...just let the ointment touch it if you know what I mean. As she naturally blinks her eyes, the ointment will spread. If you explain you won't be touching the eyelid, that might help. Good luck to you both.:grouphug:

Completely agree about the reviews BTW....water off a duck's back although it can't feel like that for the CMs.:sad2:

After reading all of these wonderful things we have decided on Poly for July 7th for 3 nights. Now trying to decide if we should do Poly CL since we have 40%off pin offer. :confused3

Can anyone comment about the resort activities. Its only going to be dh and I May 18-23. We stayed there 2 years ago.If our 2 ds didnt have finals I am sure they would be tagging along too.

And for those that have done online check in, did you get what bldg. you requested if you made a request etc.

I have asked for Samoa, 3rd floor view, last time I asked for that too and we were upgrraded to club level. What a surpirse! I just really want that bldg, due to the proximity to everything and my recovering from cancer etc, I just dont have alot of energy to do alot of walking etc. I also asked for a wheelchair because last time they had to get me one from the GF.

Also what is good at captain cooks? TIA

Mamabright ..I was going to say the same thing..I am a pediatric nurse and if you can do it Breezysmom style I am all for it but sometimes you just have to wrestle with them in the beginning and when they see it's not as horrible as they THINK it is going to be it gets easier ...plus you REALLY don't want her to get an eye infection:scared1::scared1: TRUST ME I would rather wrestle with them to put in the ointment than have to deal with the drama of an eye infection:eek::sad2:

I'm going to apologize before I begin.....I just am overwhelmed, and I am hoping for some happy thoughts since everyone here is so fun and sweet.

We leave in 24 days....I just found out my DD1 has a severe peanut allergy....we are going to an allergist in 1 wk to see if there is anything else she's allergic to. This just really worries me because she's had such a rough 16 months including reflux since birth.

I've been having chest pain since last week...Went into shock at Toys R Us from the pain of subluxing a rib, then 3 days ago at Target I almost blacked out.

In 7 days I have been to the ER and the DR. twice. They just moved up my cardiology appt/echocardiogram to tomorrow.... because of the pain increasing.

I am suffering from pressure on my chest, like someone was sitting on me...it worsens when I lay down, gets better with me leaning forward. I also can't walk around the block without feeling like I'm going to black out.

The PA I saw today is worried about Pericarditis.....which as far as I have read, is not life threatening....But I have ALWAYS been healthy.....up to last week I walked a ton and was doing the Wii Active....I am SO bummed

How am I going to be able to DO Disney?!?! I just want to feel normal and have fun with my DH and girls.

I just need to be cheered up......

I travel to Disney around 2x a year with my two boys and my DW who is Wheelchair dependant. WDW is one of the few places we can travel without too much stress about getting around and the Poly makes it much less so, we usually stay in the Tahiti Blg the proximity of the TTC makes it a good choice. Don't worry about feeling "normal" (who is?) being with your family enjoying yourself in one of the most magical places on earth is about as normal as it gets on this planet.

Hey everyone! We got a 40percent off code so we left AKL CONCG, for a garden view room from Poly. I am not sure it is the best choice. But we like the idea of the monorail. And we probably won't stay at Poly paying full price, EVER! So this may be our only chance. Can anyone help me request a good room? We do want a balcony or patio ( I didn't realize they all don't have one!) and we want to be as close as possible to the monorail (We have a 2 and 5 year old who get RATHER HEAVY!!)

We stayed in Tahiti last year and it was perfect because the times you really need to get out early you are a short walk to the TTC giving direct access to both the MK monorail/ferry and the Epcot Monorail. You also have a balcony or patio with every room. A bonus for us was the privte beach. Since it the last building no one goes down there and for wishes the kids could play on the beach while mom and dad were in the hammock. Good place to calm potential meltdowns. We also didn't find the walk to the GCH bad at all. Beside when we were going to the pool or dinner we were a little less frazzeled then we are in the mornings with three kids :)

There are so many going to the Poly the first week of December I thought I'd check for Poly peeps for when we will be there.

August, anyone?

Last week of August here!

We'll be there the first week of August.

August 6th-15th CLUB LEVEL!:yay::cool1::cloud9::cool2::cool2:

We check out of the Poly and into AKL on 8/5. Looks like we'll just miss you?

Bummer! We'll be at the Doubletree DTD from the 4th and checking into the Poly on the 7th. We are going to do Harry Potter and Kennedy Space Center before we get to Disney.

Ok, it seems this is a bit late, but it also seems like it got side tracked so I thought I would bring it up again. We will be checking in the Pop on the 8/3 w/ other family and then checking in the Poly on 8/7-8/13! I cannot wait. We're celebrating our 10 yr anniversary. We were married at Sunset Point and both DH and I are completing our masters degree in 2 wks! Now, I keep telling myself that GV is fine, that's where we stayed last yr. However, I really want to stay CL. It's just so much darn $. I am having a hard time spending that kind of $. Never done it before. Especially after spending $330 for 4 nights at the Pop! I know it doesn't compare, but we do enjoy the Pop. We're just a bit worried about the room size since we now have 2 kids.

maxsmom, club level is much more expensive. If you have any hesitation about spending the extra money, don't! Garden view rooms at the Polynesian are beautiful. You can buy souvenirs, all sorts of treats for the room, and/or order room service with the money you will save. We've stayed club level and do love it but much more often choose a gardenview room.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree with this. We just returned from the Poly CL and honestly, I can't justify the extra $$$ over a GV room. If you have any hesitation about spending the extra cash, I would recommend choosing a regular room instead. Just my 2 cents...

We're excited to stay at the Poly again in a little over 6 months. :thumbsup2

I have a quick question - - what is the best way to get from the Poly to Wilderness Lodge and back?

TIA,
Debbie

Oh no! Now I am worried. We are staying GV CL at the end of this month. I thought this would be the best option for us, because we are not big eaters and do not enjoy the DDP. Too many reservations etc. for me. Plus I love my cocktails, so I though CL would best fit our lifestyle.

I know we will have a good time regardless, but am concerned over the negative reviews I have been reading on the boards.

Monorail to Contemporary and then the boat to WL, I believe
