Hi Poly fans!
We are just back from 4 nights at the Poly, 6 nights at the BCV (11/4 - 11/14) and we had a wonderful trip.
I have to say, our room at the Poly (TPV, Tahiti, 3rd floor) was wonderful, the view was GORGEOUS, the mousekeepers were great, the entire staff was SO friendly. We liked Tahiti for it's location, we enjoyed the more low key feeling there, although we did have noisy neighbors our first two nights, not the Poly's fault, but rough on our kids, who were exhausted and trying to fall asleep. We LOVED the short walk to the TTC for the ferry to the MK, LOVED Kona for breakfast, LOVED that smell in the GCH, LOVED the Volcano pool and slide (they were not checking room keys the day we swam, although it was a cloudy, rainy day, so maybe that's why). I will agree with previous comments about how busy the GCH is at night with the restaurants and shops drawing so many people in. Will also agree that the room showed slight wear and tear, but nothing that would give me pause if I hadn't read about it before hand here on the Dis. Captain Cooks was fine, we ate there twice, not busy during slightly off hours, touch screens were fine as long as you are prepared (thank you again Poly fans). I thought the selections were good and tasty, really all I can expect from a Quick Service location. YUM DOLE WHIP!!!
After our move to the BCV, which is our home resort as DVC members, I have to admit, I wanted back at the Poly!!

I love the BCV, being Epcot fans, it is a perfect location for our family. But IMHO, the staff at the Poly were much more magical and friendly. The Beach Club staff should take a lesson from them. Our room was fine there, but boy, I missed that view! We will for sure split another stay with the Poly in the future, it is truly the best of both worlds.
The parks were fine, we used TGM, and he was right on. MK on Saturday 11/6 was PACKED!! We just went to watch the MSEP, and then got outta there quick and made it back to the Poly to watch the fireworks from our balcony, while enjoying a Dole Whip.
MVMCP on Thursday 11/11 was awesome, not too crowded at all, LOVED the castle lights! Epcot on Saturday 11/13 was INSANELY busy, which we knew going in, but it is our traditional last park, should have listened to TGM on that one. People were drunk and rude and their behavior was not very family friendly. We ended up hanging out in the UK, watched the British Invasion for a couple of shows and then watched Illuminations from the IG. Next time we will avoid the F&W festival, just not fun for us.
We tried new things this trip, stuff we had avoided or just missed. Some hits, some misses, but I have to say the highlight for me was fireworks from our Tahiti balcony at the Poly!
Overall, a great trip! If anyone has questions, glad to answer! Thanks to you all for your great posts and advice!
