Has anyone done this? What was it like? Would you recomend it?

I have 2 adult (19 & 21) plus my mother they don't want to do the Mickey's Halloween party so I was thinking of this

Please give me your inputs.

We did it last October with a grand gathering group. Part of it was dampened for us, because it POURED while we were waiting to get in, and the waiting area was not very covered, so everyone waiting for the show crowded into the tiny section that was. A little sticky, wet, and claustrophobic. So it made the wait seem longer, and then once we got seated, the show started late so they could wait out the rain and clean up the stage.

However, the food was delicious. I felt like the show was too long, and as a theatre girl myself, certainly had issues with the acting portions. :) I wish they had just stuck to the traditional Hawaiian dance and music stuff and left out the story. But overall it wasn't too bad. We probably wont' do it again though. Just realize it's going to take like 3 hours of your night at least.

I am thinking about doing it on our last night, so we would not have anything to do but come back to the Pop century and pack and get ready to go home the next morning.
Thanks for the input

We did the 8pm show the 1st night of our arrival and it set the vacation tone for us! It was AWESOME. Me and DS12 loved it. I actually paid for an extra seat so we could get in Category 1 seating, up close. It was totally worth it!! We were only 2 so they said none were available; when I called back and asked for table of 3 they found one!

Not only is the show fantastically entertaining, the food was EXCELLENT and there was plenty of it.

We are booking again on our next trip in May! Do it, you wont be disappointed, and if you can afford the better seating it's well worth it.

We did this on our 1st trip, the show was ok and the food was ok. I say do it if you have never done it then never again, its not worth the $$/TS pts

We did it 2 years ago and it was fun and the food was good. Our kids thought it was the hi-lite of the entire trip. So no complaints here.

However.....this year we went to the Hoop Dee Doo review and it was FANTASTIC. The food was excellent and the show was hilarious. We were celebrating our anniversary and they asked if anyone was celebrating anything my DH raised his hand (which he never does...he's not a joiner). They made us get up and dance while they sang 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart'. We will for sure be doing this again and I have always said that the dinner shows are too expensive I would only do them when on the DDP. I have since changed my mind...we will do this again even if it means paying OOP. Needless to say, this is now our family favourite.

Is this show really 3 hrs long? We are doing the 515pm show in a couple of weeks and then I was hoping to get to Magic Kingdom to see Spectromagic and wishes as this is the only night that week that Spectro is being shown. Should I cancel?:confused3

No...it's only about 90 minutes.

It's just "OK".

The show is kind of fun, kind of corny, with the fire twirlers being the best part.

The food, as one of my friends put it, is like something from a 'Hawaiian Cafeteria". Everything is kinda bland, the rice is kind of cold... in short, nothing to write home about. Our first time there was way back in the 80's, and I swear the menu has not changed one bit since then. For the price paid, the quality should be *much* better.

I suppose it's worth doing once, but the Hoop de Doo is a MUCH better choice.

I don't understand why you have to pay extra, It is already taking 2 TS why do you have to pay more for a category 1 please explain.
