Due to a terrible work schedule this school year I have not had much time to obsess over my cruise , but I'm 102 days out and will be booking things during Christmas vacation (silver level so I will be 90 days out). We are doing the 4 day Dream, leaving the day after Easter.
I know DH and I want to have a Palo brunch and I want to get a day pass for the spa. I don't think I want any excursions at CC--thought it would be better to just laze about.
But what about Nassau? In 2003 we did Blue Lagoon. My son (17) does not remember it. I think that's what we would do if we do anything, but part of me says just get off the ship and walk around a little (he does want to see the pirate museum which we could do on our own) and then go enjoy the ship while people are gone.
So any feedback on whether we should do Blue Lagoon again?
Also, is the teen adventure worth it? On the website it says it sells out, but if DS doesn't like hanging out in the teen club (hey, it happens) he won't want to do it. If we book it can we cancel on board?

RE: Castaway Cay: we don't plan any excursions and if we decide we want a float or tube we get it while on the island (especially in Dec, Jan, Feb when the water can be on the cool side). If you want to go para sailing you should book that ASAP. If the weather conditions are not safe, they will cancel and refund you money, if the weather is "bad" but still safe, you'll be charged if you go or not.

RE: Nassau: If you think that you want to go, book the excursion now, and you can cancel up to 3 days before your cruise starts (at least that's what the rules used to be). As you get closer to the cruise, you can decide if you really want to do this excursion.

RE: Palo: Try booking your brunch as soon as possible. If you can't book it online, try getting on the ship as early as possible - they hold back some ressies to book on board, but I assume that Palo brunch on a 4 night cruise is at a premium.

Another thought for Nassau, some people book day passes at resorts over there, through the resort and not through DCL. You'd probably have to take a taxi. I can't remember the name of the hotels/resorts, but the pics look nice. They usually have a private beach with some water activities and food/drink service.

Also, you can book on the ship on the port day. You risk nothing being available, but I did that for an Atlantis Adventure and we got it.

Thanks! I am definitely booking Palo at 12:01 the first day I can book it.
Any thoughts on the teen excursion?

I started cruising on DCL 16 years ago and back then was a 40 something, I though that the CC teen excursion sounded like a lot of fun :jumping3:- and I wanted to do it but they wouldn't let me :sad2:

I'm now heading towards 60 and it still sounds like fun!!!

but sorry, I'm not of any help on this excursion. Our kids never wanted to participate (what's wrong with them) - we just played in the family beach area every trip and had good times together there.
