Two weeks from right now we will be landing in Orlando!

I have all of my plans set and have read these boards continuously. We are staying at CSR.

My DD will be 3 two weeks after we are there. Everything I have read says that kids under 3 are free for parks & some of the buffets, but do they require any proof of age? She is actually small for her age and definitley looks like a 2 year old.

I have read the traveling with preschoolers and toddler pages, but any extra tips are welcome. We are planning mid day breaks in our room for naps.

Thanks, MD

:D :smooth:

It's no problem. We took a just 1 week short of 3 year old last year (big boy kid) and no one blinked an eye. They never ask for proof of age.

There will be no problem;if you tell them the child is under three they will accept your word for it.

Last November we took my 2 1/2 yr. old son who looked like 3 1/2. One CM asked how old he was while we were going into MK, but that's it. And she didn't blink an eye when we said 2. You won't have a problem. Enjoy! :D

My 2 yr. old looks and acts older. We had no problems. No one even asked.

Look at you bill though, to make sure they did not charge. They charged us one time (forget which one), but took it off with no problems.

Our family went to WDW in April. We have a 5yr old and a 2yr old. Our 2yr old is very big for his age, but there was never a question or even a glance toward him when entering the gates. He rode all the rides (that were appropriate) very well and still asks to this day to watch our video of the trip. We did have some WDW vacation planner videos for him and my daughter to watch before we left and they were very excited about our trip and knew we were going somewhere special.
We found that packing extra snacks(pretzels, fruit chews, goldfish, etc.) in our backpack made inbetween times much easier and kept our children occupied while waiting in line for rides. There are strollers to rent, which is a MUST and the character meals made the stay even more memorable and made for keepsake pictures. Pace yourselves and you will have a Magical Time.

No they won't ask her age, we never had a problem...:bounce:

All those responses are comforting to me as my almost 3 year old is almost as big as her 5 year old sister!!!!!!!

No need to fret. We went in Dec and our daughter would turn 3 in Feb. No one even blinked an eye at us. Enjoy!

Funny this topic should come up. Our daughter is turning three while we are at WDW in December. I asked the booking office how they would charge her, they told me that since she was turning three on Dec.21st and we were arriving Dec. 20th that she would be considered 3. I didn't argue, but it will cost us an extra few hundred dollars!

Hmmm.

That's the first time I've heard of that happening. I always thought the Disney rule was that a child was considered the age s/he arrived at Disney for the entire time. What "booking office" are you referring to? Your travel agent or CRO? I noticed in another post that you were going with the Grand Plan. Maybe them charging you is because of the package. If I were you, I'd get room only and buy your park tickets separately. You'll save a lot of money right off the bat by putting your vacation together yourself and your daughter may be considered an infant for the entire time.

Robin,
I am glad you responded, because I have been thinking about what the person at Disney Travel 1-407-W-disney told me and she did not sound sure of herself at all. I asked if my daughter was considered 2 or 3 because the CM told me that since we were checking in on Dec. 20th (for seven nights) the value season prices would prevail our entire trip even though the value season ended on Dec 21st. I fiqured that they would do the same for birthdays, whatever age you check in as is the age you are for that stay.
We did book the grand plan, and if they consider my daughter 3 and not 2 it would be about $1000 more! My husband wants me to call and speak with a supervisor tomorrow just to clarify. The answer may prompt me to book the room seperately,e tc. because I was quoted a price of $386 with tax for lodge concierge checking in on the 20th. The price jumps up almost$200 a night by just checking in one day later! I will let you know what the "official" answer is tomorrow about my almost three year old. Thanks for your input.
