Almost Live Trip Report OKW

Hi from the UK!

We got the Gangster version on the movie ride too, did the cars used to go different ways for the other version? Couldn't see where that would happen and noticed a few different scenes this time.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay at okw, we really loved it.

:goodvibes

Or too many bubbles In the jacussi when DD used it, that had me running with armfuls of the things and throwing them over the balcony-you may hear reports of snow at Disney's OKW.

My OH and I made that mistake, we had a great mountain in the middle so it didn't go over the edge. This time next Tuesday we will be at OKW, can't wait

Apparentlly there is a sauna in here, we haven't been tempted to try it though

We took the boat down to DTD this afternoon and paid a quick visit to DisneyQuest, did the pirate thingy a couple of times but nothing else really took our interest,as ArielIWish said the other day, it's been the same for so long it's losing it's appeal, or maybe our kids have out grown it. DS did think he might go back in after dinner but in the end don't bother.

View as we arrived

We then browsed the shops, especially Candy Cauldren as we walked up to rainforest cafe, still 25 snack credits to use:woohoo:

Took this photo as I waited to check in:rotfl2:

It's not my favourite place to eat, but one the kids both voted for, having said that I had a fantastic Chicken BBQ wrap, it has coriander it and I love it:worship:. I also asked for an extra side of coleslaw, as I love the American fresh stuff, don't eat it in the UK - too much mayonnaise. It was huge

. We were able to have the Volcano as 3 of the desserts, so we did, it would have been rude not to, DH had the cheesecake, as well as some volcano.

We then took a leisurely stroll back towards the boat, spending some snack credits on the way, DH got a cinnamon Roll that's big enough for us to share for breakfast tomorrow & the kids got some lollipops to take home,5 down, 20 to go. I also bought some Mickey Cake Sprinkles as I've promised D SiL a cake when we get home, she missed out on the birthday cake we were going to get her from Cake Boss bakery as they moved back to the UK:lmao:

View as we caught the boat home, it was nice to have a day without buses.

Oh nearly forgot to mention, as we walked into World of Disney Store Dd asked how much it cost to have your hair done at the BBB Boutique, I asked her why, did she want it done. She's at that age where she's excited about being an adult, but nervous, and is beginning to realise some things are more fun as a kid if you understand what I mean. So on the way out I noticed two ladies sprinkling Pixie Dust on a young girl & asked if they'd mind doing an 18 yr old, of course they didn't
image_zps15a90b31.jpg
She pretended to protest but loved it really.

Tomorrow MK Fantasyland day,& CS at BOG hopefully.

What a lovely day

Ssh, don't tell anyone but I am a grown woman who would like to get glitter in my hair at BBB ;)

Hello again,

I'd better not show my DD this as she was loitering at BBB wanting to go in lol!

We used 28 snack credits on our last day on bags of sweets and boxes of biscuits to bring home! Still had some left over along with 3 counter service credits. Far too much food!!

Just so you know it's been bloody freezing here today, I'm sure we're feeling it more than a lot but it's time for the vests to come out I think! :lmao:

Magic Kingdom again today, arrived nice & early, so used to the bathroom rota now that we were out 10 mins earlier than planned:rotfl2:
as you can see not many people headed towards the castle, just one Princess & her parents
image_zpseff4bb2b.jpg

1st we did under the sea
image_zpsf0e08280.jpg
then headed around the construction to Pooh, DS stayed to get Ariels autograph it must be love, he wouldn't have considered queuing to see a princess on his own before:lovestruc . I tried to take a picture of the new ride through a peep hole - fairly sure I haven't got a future career in industrial espionage:rotfl:
image_zps2b04a907.jpg

We then did Dumbo, no queue, it doesn't seem so popular now. We then headed back to do Enchated tales with Belle, which they all protested about, but I was determined. They soon changed their minds, especially as DH was chosen as a guard, let's just say he hasn't got a career change coming up any time soon either

DH fancied coffee & cake rather than lunch, his cinnamon roll was huge. I nipped down to fetch FPs for Thunder Mountain and decided it was my duty to spend another snack credit on this
image_zps3856cacc.jpg

We finished Fantasyland by doing Peter Pan with a FP and then Philamagic, we all love this show and it's a nice rest spot after all the dashing about too. Then back to ride Thunder Mountain, kids had lunch at Pecos Bill and I tried another DIS reccomendation
image_zpsa65458a0.jpg
Really yummy:thumbsup2 3 of us headed bak to OKW and DS queued up again for Princess signatures.

After a quick dip in the quiet pool, DD & I headed out to AK to try and see the parade as we'd missed it the other day. The boys decided to stay at OKW. Luck was with us and we managed to see it from a nice shady spot on the bridge from Harambe towards exit/Lion King area. I love this parade, it doesn't matter how many times I see it, I always enjoy it, I think it must be the music.

We then did the safari again and walked the Pangani trail. We were hoping to see them call the Gorilla's in for bed, something we watched last year, but it appears they were having a late night. They make them all sit in their own specific spots, just opposite the rope bridge, one by one they get a treat and then the signal to go in.
We got some good pics of them though
image_zpsdfaaaed6.jpg

We then took a slow stroll through the park, and shops to the exit, got on a very busy bus to AKL for dinner at Boma. Saw a young girl of about 12/13 spread some Disney Magic by giving two younger girls who were admiring her pin collection a few pins each, her Mum said it was Ok as she had loads. Actually I'm sure she would have been a DISer as they had Mickey Head tie-dyed T-Shirts on. Wish I'd had something English to give her but all I had was a bag of Goofy Sweets (still desperately spending snack credits:goodvibes) Hope she like the sour ones!

Met the boys in the AKL reception area and had a quick look at the animals on the savanna before Boma. we all love Boma, best thing tonight was Zulu Cabbage, sort of cabbage, onion, peppers stir-fry with a spicy curryish sort of flavour, went really well with the roast pork. Think DH and I enjoyed our meal all the more by not having a CS today. We then caught a bus to DTD and did some last minute shopping before catching boat home.DTD was really busy tonight

Yet another early start, at HS by 8:30, they opened park at 8:40, no rope hold back or anything. We went straight to TSM at guy at FP machines says they always open early now. We had ridden TSM, collected FPs for later (9:45 when we went in) and were in R&R recording studio by 9:07. ToT was down so rode twice and the headed towards Backlot Tour, haven't done this for a few years, the formats the same but the volunteer crew were really good and had us all laughing.
image_zps041a4614.jpg

we then rode TSM again, stopping on the way to meet Sully & Mike
image_zpsfdef4539.jpg

Then a quick and early lunch, I don't recommend the ribs from Faifax Fare, they were gorgeous and came with my beloved coleslaw but I got in a right mess, fortunately I had a dark top on.
We then saw the 11:15 Indianna Jones show, they've had the same stunt guy for years, but he is funny. We decided to call it a day as it was really hot and we're in Magic Kingdom for our last night tonight.
Stopped on way out for picture of Topiary so DH knows how I want our privet hedge done next year

image_zpsf34955ab.jpg

Pooltime or nap time, then we headed out to dinner at Ohana, we decided to go via Epcot so we could have a proper ride on the monorail. As we had plenty of time, and had to go through bag check anyway we went into Epcot a little bit as we realised at HS that we only had the one photo with all of us in:confused3
image_zps71aab3f5.jpg
.
Think it's a bit dark though, DD didn't want to stand in the sun.

We walked from the TTC to the Poly and checked in after the opening ceremony -where they played by favourite song from Lilo & Stitch. Meal was fantastic, we love the food here, especially the bread & salad. Watch your meat though, our pork was raw in the middle, don't think our server was very amused when I asked for fresh plates and cutlery, but I'm not reusing a knife I've cut through raw meat with, especially with a flight tomorrow:scared1:
the fire pit

After a delicious pudding, got to love Bannana Fosters Sauce, we headed to MK

Due to being very full we did Carousel of Progress, TTA & Indy Speedway, we had time for a quick dance with these guys also

image_zps68852414.jpg

Now waiting for castle show & fireworks on Tomorrowland bridge, under Tinks wire.

Sounds like another great day! We've never had anything other than breakfast at Ohana but that fire pit looks interesting! That's a dinner must for our future I think.

Also meant to say the Runaway Mine Train is coming along, think it's meant to open early next year - we saw the ride vehicles for it being painted on the Behind the Magic tour we did, very exciting!

Hope you enjoy the fireworks tonight and have a safe journey home (it's cold - just saying!).

:goodvibes

Thank, yes I'm afraid that the clothes that have been left out of the cases for travelling home tomorrow includes jumpers. I'm going to have a busy few days, they're both off to Uni on Sunday, not sure if its:dance3: or :scared1:

After a spectacular castle & fireworks show, boy did we get a good spot (makes a change for us, last few years we've made a right hash of it, you'd think we were 1st timers) we are now relaxing with a cup of tea - in pjs so I can put another wash on! Typhoon Lagoon tomorrow am before showers & change at OKW for 3:50 pick-up on ME.

Have a safe trip home-we fly out with virgin the day you fly back so a hello from the air to you! Thanks for a great report and pics, looks like you had a holiday that will leave you with some very happy (and funny) memories. We're also staying at old key west for the 2nd 2 weeks- what are you doing on your last day? Take care :goodvibes

Spent the last few hours at Typhoon Lagoon, left just before 2pm as clouds were beginning to gather, now getting one ME bus

Hope your journey is trouble free and safe :goodvibes
Thanks, home safe & sound, not too much washing either, that's the beauty of OKW. My rushed post as ME bus had arrived bang on time was unnecessary, it wasn't for us just doing drop offs. Not sure what happened but they sent a taxi in the end at about 4:20, OKW Greeter was great, she was chasing them as soon as they were 10 mins late. queued at Virgin Desk, then again for security and took off about 30 mins late as plane had been pulled over on landing for a security inspection. Still got to be better than 25 hours like last year. We had the extra leg room seats on the return journey, it's surprising how less cramped you feel. Passport control at Gatwick was a nightmare, they wern't using the self service machines, queue was along corridor in both directions before you even reached the room, after all that worrying about JFK it was worse when we got home. Had a bit of a panic on the luggage carousel, 2 cases just like ours just going round and no sign of ours, thought someone else had perhaps taken ours by mistake, had a bit of a walk round and there was a whole pile on the floor (ours included), expect as we were so long the belt got too full. Caught train home at 10:17, back in Bedford by noon, then DSIL picked us up from station for last 5 miles.

Thanks for following everyone, I've enjoyed doing, now to get the kids ready for Uni, already spent £150 in Sainsburys this pm!

Many thanks for your live report. It's been great sharing your trip with you all. I did one last year (failed miserably this year :confused3) and couldn't believe how organised I had to be to get it done, so now really appreciate the folks who take the time to keep us all up to speed. DS is just finishing his 3 weeks just now( flies home on Monday) and has barely managed to find the time to send me a quick message now and again :rotfl2: so well done and thanks again.
