Part 2: Downtown Disney/MK
After getting settled in and getting a bite to eat, we boarded the bus for Downtown Disney. We spent some time wandering through the shops and seeing what had changed since our last trip. My DH wanted to try out Disney Quest so we headed there so he could create his own roller coaster. DD was getting fussy by this point so we left DH exploring Disney Quest and took her for a walk and to get her a snack.
Around 6 PM we left Downtown Disney by boarding the first bus that showed up as we really had no plans at this point. We boarded the bus to the Contemporary where we decided to catch the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Neither DH nor DD had ever ridden the monorail before. After arriving at the Magic Kingdom, we decided to see if we could eat at Liberty Tavern. The wait was 25 minutes as we did not have a PS but worth it in the end.
The food at Liberty Tavern was very good and really hit the spot after our long day of traveling. We were hesitant to see how DD would react to the characters and had scheduled a PS at Crystal Palace for breakfast later in the week so she could meet Pooh and friends. She surprised us when the first character--Plutoarrived at our table. She loved meeting him and even gave him a kiss. As she spotted each character (Pluto, Chip & Dale, the raccoon from Pocahontas, and Minnie Mouse) in the restaurant she would get so excited and point. When they would stop at our table, they were all really good to let her reach for them first and were surprised when she would grab for them to come closer and gave each one a kiss on the nose and a hug. The meal was worth every penny after seeing her first interaction with the Disney characters. Pluto turned out to be her favorite that night.
As we left Liberty Tavern and made our way back to Main Street, Wishes was fixing to start. We didnt stay as we were tired and wanted to get ahead of the crowd leaving MK. We had already planned to spend Tuesday night at the MK to see both the Spectromagic parade and Wishes.
It was back to Pop Century and to bed as tomorrow was going to be a long day.
