My friends and I are trying to plan a trip for our senior week this year. We are trying to decide whether to stay at one of the all star resorts or at the wilderness resort. We're not exactly sure how many of us will be going just yet, but there will prob be atleast 4 of us. is the wilderness resort good for that amount of gurls to stay together?! also which one do u think would be more affordable? any advice will help at this point!! thanks

The All Stars resorts are Value Resorts: outdoor hallways, no sitdown restaurants, smaller rooms with double beds, and cheaper. The Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort: interior hallways, larger rooms, queen beds and more expensive. If you are splitting your room 4 ways, a Deluxe could be affordable. Also, for every additional adult above 2, I think Disney charges $25 per night (regardless of Value or Deluxe), so you might want to factor that cost into your trip.

Well I have two thinbgs for you to think about.
1) How much time are you going to be spending in the room? If you are using it as a place to sleep and shower, then I would say you would be better off going for the value resort (All Stars) If you like to hang around the pool or spen lots of time in the room or hotel then I would say the Wilderness Lodge.
2) When My best friend and I went on the Disney Cruise for our senior trip we decided to splurge a but and we went for a higher class then we would usually do just because it was our graduation present to ourselves. The past couple of trips though what we decided to do was both of us save money and when it came time to book a room we booked the level the person with the least amount of money could afford and still have spending money. As you can see from my signature we have stayed all over the resort at many different levels. All are really nice hotels and resorts though, and if you ever have a problem I have found Disney most helpful when I was asking for a remedy to the problem as long as I was resonable about it.
Hope this helps,
Minnesota

Actually, they charge $25 a night more in deluxes, $15 in moderates, and $10 at the values. I would get a couple of guidebooks and visit some websites: waltdisneyworld.com-(do not book through the website), wdwig.com, and mousesavers.com (for resort disounts).

Also, check your dates, so that you will not be arriving in peak season (outrageous rates).

Start saving NOW. Have a plan to raise money (jobs, babysitting , wash cars, yard sales, save change, tutoring, etc.) and have goals set. Perhaps relatives will give you an early graduation present. As you get closer and see waht discounts are out, yuo can book your room. I would buy tickets separately, not a package.Get the PLUS only if yu will really go to a water park, etc.

Most important: visit these forums for questions and advice.
good luck!

I agree with what the other posters have said. First decide on how much time you are going to spend at the hotel. I'm thinking you guys are probably going to be on the go a lot! So, you might not want to spend the extra $ on things you aren't going to be able to take advantage of at a more expensive resort.

Also another thing to think about would be getting TWO connecting rooms at the All Stars (I would suggest Movies, you guys would love it). With two connecting rooms you guys would have TWO BATHROOMS! Which would probably be really helpful with 4 girls going. I know we did that Easter 2001 with 5 girls and it was a lifesaver!

I would also decide if I wanted to spend more $ on a hotel room or other things. We have had such great experiences at the All Stars we've decided we like the money we save going for other things on our trip.

As far as ideas on how to make saving money for the trip fun... my friends and I would get Disney Dollars (at the Disney Store) for the amount of money we need to save towards our trip each month. It was fun and it helped us not to dip into our savings for other things.

Whatever you decide I'm sure you will have a great time!

You might want to think about the Fort Wilderness Cabins. They sleep six, however there is only one bathroom. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the cabin so you could have some snack foods in the cabin. This could save you some $$$. Also, we got a rate of $139 (?) per night with a discount code for x-mas week. When it gets closer to your time to go you can check out these discounts. They were available right on the disney.com site. I think it would be a lot of fun to stay in the cabin for senior week. Wherever you will choose I am sure you will have a blast.:p

I think that the bulk of senior week trippers stay at the AllStars. It is something to think about there will be more kids your age to run around with. Have agreat time. DD and DS both had wonderful trips to the All Stars with their friends but when mom and dad are paying they wouldn't be caught dead there.
