Hi everyone,

Does anyone know anything about the Allstars Hotels in Disney? Are they really cheaper than other hotels? Do they have a 1-800 number?

We are planning on going in August and desperately need help. Money is tight as usual but we all deserve a nice vacation. We haven't had one since before our twins were born back in 97!

Yes the All Stars are the value hotel/resort at WDW. There is no 800# that I know of. You would make your reservations through central reservations.

If you have spefic questions please post and I will do my best to help, I am sure others will too.

The way we are going to WDW is by using the Kellogg Kash promotion. You send in 100 Kellogg Kash certificates, and you get one free night at an All Star resort. Each household can send in 200 Kellogg Kash certificates and get 2 free night coupons. I purchased Kellogg Kash on e-bay for about 50 cents per certificate. You send them in to Kellogg, and Kellogg sends you back the free night coupon. Then you call the # on the coupon to make your reservation. The certificates have to be send in by the end of May, and the free night coupons are good through the end of August.

I will be there for 3 nights in May, and it is costing us $150.00 total (two of the coupons are in my name, and one is in my friends name).

Shagley, I did this exact same thing last summer and it worked out great. The only thing about it that was a slight pain in the behind, was that each "certificate night" was considered a different reservation and we had to check out and re-check in each morning (I thought we had used three certificates though). We didn't have to change rooms or anything, it was just kind of a slight inconvenience

jltwdw - thanks for the heads up about using the Kellogg Kash for reservations. Hopefully we won't have to check out and in like you did, but at least now I know that we might have to. Thanks for the info!

I just stayed at All Star Music last week, it was just fine. Went to check out Movies cause nextmonth dh and I are going without kids- food was MUCH better there. Other than that, things seemed the same. Someone on our bus said that Pop Century's food was horrible.

I've stayed at all three (Sports, Music, Movies). They are really economical. And don't forget, you have to be staying on property to get the early hour, and the Extended hours for on property guests only. If you are going for a week, you might buy one annual pass, so that you can get the AP rates....which I think are the best. I don't believe they are out for August yet, but when you call reservations, ask what it is and you'll see it is the best rate, and might offset the additional cost for an AP. There are other discounts for having an AP as well. I noticed that the Pop Century had a couple dollar lowere difference, but having stayed there, I would vote for the All Stars also. You can purchase the annual pass when you get there, or contact Disney to get one. Another thing, if you are flying in on certain carriers, and staying on property, you can get free transport from airport to hotel. You don't even have to collect your luggage. They get it for you and bring it to your room. Then you can check it in at the hotel and not worry about it until you get home. Enjoy the planning. :teacher:

I have stayed at AS Movies and Pop. Like ASMO much better because the kids love the grounds and it is smaller and the bus situation seemed better at Movies.
I think Pop is like a tiny bit cheaper because tax is slightly less. (I think All Stars are in a different county)

Any of the values are decent. They are clean and the service is great.

We liked the food much better at POP than ASMo. The bus service seemed like less of a walk at ASMo (we have stayed in almost all of the themes at one time or another) it may be me, but it seemed closer. POP is a little less (a few $, not much) due to a different tax rate.

Hi,

Do you know of any other good deals for Disney...such as tickets?

Someone else replied to my post & said when they used the Kellogg Kash they had to check out & check back in again...do you know anything about this?

Also, I got on ebay & does it matter if it says Kelloggs Disney Nascar on the Kellogg Kash? Where does one go to find more info on this promotion?

Mary

Where can I go for more info on the Kellogg Kash?

Do you know of any other deals for tickets?

Mary

Go to www.KelloggKash.com

They had some kind of auction with the Kellogg Kash that has expired now, so go to where it says "For information on Kellogg Kash mail in offers, please click here". Then it will take you to the page with info. on the WDW Resort Hotel Voucher Award Offer (and their other offers as well).

I will be using my Resort Hotel Vouchers in May, so I will let you know if we still have to check out and in each morning. Hopefully they have changed that, but if not, I guess it is just a little inconvienence for saving so much $.

I forgot to mention that occasionally people offer Kellogg Kash on the Disboard auction site. Check there, because that would normally be cheaper than on e-bay.

Also, I have noticed that some people are selling their free night certificates on e-bay. Check for those and you won't even have to mess with sending in the Kash.

We have stayed in the All Stars, and if it were up to DH we would always stay there. The theming is great for kids, and it is cheap, as far as a hotel goes. You're in Disney World, so you're not going to feel like you are staying in a dump of a hotel. I would highly recommend them. You do know, though, that you can only put four in a room? I'm not sure how many people are in your party, but just wanted to point that out.

Can you swim in all the pools at the All stars resorts? ie If I'm staying at ASMo can I swim in an ASMu pool? Are the resorts somewhat attached or are they their own seperate area? Also what building do you reccommend staying in at ASMo. Our travel agent did not tell us which one we are in, or when you get there do they assign the room to you then. Maybe when I get my confirmation of booking I'll be further ahead as to which area of ASMo we are in. Thanks :earboy2:

digskat: I think it os ok to swim at any of the All-Stars pools if you are staying at one of the AllStars. Same with POR and POFQ.
Some stickler will surely correct me if I am wrong

I don't know the rule, but I also don't know why you would want to swim in another pool. The pools are pretty basic at the All Stars. When you get to more expensive hotels, the pools are themed a little more with water slides. At the All Stars the theming is pretty basic by the shape of the pool and the decorations. Like the main pool at ASMo is the Fantasia pool. The smaller one is the Mighty Ducks pool and the theme on that one is that it's a hockey rink.

As far as what area to suggest, it depends on what you like. I would not pay the extra money to stay in Fantasia. We stayed in Dalmatian and we liked that area. It's pretty close to the main building and pool. Toy Story is another good one. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those choices.

Thanks Guys, I was looking at either the dalmation or the Fantasia buildings 'cause they seem pretty central, I didn't realize however that there was an extra cost for Fantasia. ?why is that?
