Allowed to unborrow after purchasing new direct contract?

I'm pretty I've seen it somewhere recently but I can't seem find it. Does anyone know where it states, in writing, that Member Services will unborrow points after purchasing a new contract and using the new contract for a replacement booking of a reservation that uses borrowed points?

I'm likely going to buy at VDH. One of my upcoming VGC stays is on borrowed VGC points, and I'd be open to swapping that stay with a VDH stay, but only if I can unborrow the VGC points.

I asked my guide and he gave very milquetoast assurances that this should be possible by Member Services. Not good enough.

As I'm looking to book a limited-availability 1BR at VDH and am not interested in a Studio and don't want to cancel VGC without having VDH in-hand, this would need to be my order of operations:
  • ✅ Have existing VGC reservation using borrowed VGC points
  • Buy VDH between 5/2 and 5/13ish
  • Get VDH points loaded into account before 5/16
  • Book VDH 1BR on 5/16
  • Cancel and unborrow points for my existing VGC reservation shortly thereafter
Confirming that this not just occasionally done but explicitly permitted in writing may change when we buy VDH. Any help pointing to documentation that says this is appreciated.

It is the Horme Resort rules and regulations document.

Aha! Thank you!

Found it via Google: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.g...ome_Resort_Rules_and_Regulations_Aug_2021.pdf

Relevant section here:
2) Once Borrowed, Home Resort Vacation Points cannot be returned to their original Use Year and will expire if not used by the end of the Use Year into which they were Borrowed. However, if a Club Member purchases an additional Ownership Interest after Borrowing Home Resort Vacation Points, that Club Member may substitute newly allocated Home Resort Vacation Points of a current Use Year for the Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points that were used toward a future reservation, and the Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points will be returned to their original Use Year.
So I guess it's still a gray area if a VDH reservation of the exact same dates as an existing VGC reservation qualifies. The points are not substituting, the reservation is substituting. Hmmmm.

It doesn’t have to be for the same reservation. I know that for a fact as they just did it last year for me and in the past.

Good to hear you've had an experience with a different reservation.

Was your order of operations the same, where you booked the replacement reservation first then canceled/unborrowed on the original?

Actually they were able to do it for me as I had made my trip at the 7 month window so they just reallocef the points by replacing new points into it.

But, what you plan to do will definitely work!

FYI if you haven’t bought direct before, the points are loaded to your account insanely fast. We just bought VGF a couple weeks ago and we had points in our account within 2 hours. Could have been much quicker but I just didn’t log in until that long after submitting the signed docs.

Our most recent add-on, late last year, took a little over a day.
