Allowed to share PIN CODES?!?! Since when???

I wish I had a free dining code, but so far I got 30% off at a moderate so we went ahead and booked POFQ, and then a month later I got 40% off....so now I just need the free dining. My TA was able to use the 40% code even though is was in my father in laws name to apply to my ressie and my mothers for this year. It came to my email so I don't know if that mattered, but Disney didn't seem to care.

I actually asked about this back in January when I booked my trip. My mom and her disney buddy were planning a trip around the same time and the CM told me I could do up to 3 ressies as long as the other ones were within my dates of travel.

We were able to use 1 pin code for 2 families last year but we were in the same resort.

We just said we were traveling together...which we were and everyone got free dining.

Well, when I booked the CM would not let me book a room for my mom with my pin code. She said we had to liv in the same house. Guess it just depends on who you get on the phone!

You can't just share as in give away a pin.

Pin codes are for use by the person they are addressed to only.
If that addressee is going on a trip with others, the addressee can book up to 3 total rooms with the pin.

Loop hole - you don't actually have to be traveling with or at same time, just have to be overlapping dates with the addressee who has a pin and have the addressee call and say you are with them and link(?) the ressies.

So to befriend you would have to find someone (unmet stranger on the dis) within your dates wanting the discount bad enough to be willing to give you access to their ressie and personal information to link their reservation to yours and you give access to yours.........

I've been booking multiple (up to 3 rooms) for clients with PIN codes for a couple of years at least. This is not new, just not widely known.

The key is that the PIN code holder MUST be traveling and can extend that discount to family/friends that travel around the same time with a date overlap. No need to be at the same resort, just have to have PIN code promo rooms available.

I subscribed to this thread last year in case I ever needed to do this in the future, and looks like I will because i got a pin code for 25% off and would like to share it with family who are going to be there around the same time. Most likely only one day (check-out day) of the reservation will overlap though because I have to check-out and back in again that day with a free dining package. I phoned and the CM told me I wouldn't be able to do it because they have to book the EXACT same dates as me and this is their pin code policy and she was reading it during the call. Does anyone know if this policy has changed since last year or does it depend on what CM you get? I specifically remembered this thread saying it doesn't have to be the exact same dates and I mentioned to her that I "know people" who have done this before and she said she's sorry but I've been given wrong information. If it's true that it only has to be one overlapping day, I'm now thinking it may not even apply to me because technically the overlapping day is my check-out day. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Last January, we were staying on DVC points that were rented and I had a pin code that I didn't even know I had(the CM told me I had it) and allowed me to use it to book a room at AKL for my inlaws...I was just calling at my MIL's request to check rates.

Wow! I never knew you could "share" pins. Yes, I have read the whole thread and realize what the requirements are. Is there any rule on the DIS that says we can't post our dates and see if we can help someone out (or be helped out?)
Please don't flame me if there IS a rule....I am just asking as it seems we are all friends here.

If there is no such rule, I need free dining for October 20th through the 23rd....

we are doing a grand gathering and they won't let us book a room with a PIN code for our parents because they will be staying on a different resort.

talked to a supervisor and won't budge - now asked to speak with guest services...

Now, issue here could be because we are using FD and want to use a room-only PIN code for them...
