I have a 75 point contract. I made two reservation during my use year, the first requiring 70 points and the second requiring 66 points (61 of which were borrowed from the next year). Went on the first trip, used those 70 points. Now I may have to cancel the second trip, but if I do, I will be required to use those 61 borrowed points by the end of the use year.

Could I have called in prior to the first trip and asked that the borrowed points be used on the first reservation? I thought all borrowed points were used first, but I guess this applies to where the points are pulled from when making a reservation? Not on reservations as a group within a use year?

You could probably have asked them prior to your first trip to reallocate and use the borrowed points for that first trip. No guarantees, but at the moment Member Services seems to be allowing that. Of course, now that the trip is over, you can not get a reallocation after the fact.

It applies to which points are used when making a reservation. Those points are then tied to that particular reservation. Your current UY points were tied to reservation #1, the banked points to reservation #2.
