Alligators

And everyone remember it is the against the law to feed the gators.

Feed the gators? I don't plan on getting within 100 yards. I tend to avoid critters that think of me or my family as dinner.:rotfl2:

We are going to the Poly in October. I hope we see gator or atleast a snake. My 4yo daughter would think that is great. She has seen pictures of ducks at the resort and some pictures of gators too. This would just make her trip.

We just returned from the Poly and didn't see any gators. However, a skinny black snake about 18" long slithered across the sidewalk in front of me (almost across my feet!) at Typhoon Lagoon. I did a strange little hopping jig to get away from him, and I think it entertained several people who witnessed it. :)

:lmao::rotfl2:

Remember, April through June is mating season in Florida for alligators so you might see more of them floating around.

God, I hope Aubriee doesn't see this. She'll freak! :scared1:

Too late! I saw it!:rotfl::rotfl: Not freaking out, but may consider changing my request from a ground floor to an upper floor. These things don't know how to climb stairs or operate elevators, right?:rotfl:

Please do not let your children near the snakes. While the majority of the snakes people see around here are black racers, which are non-poisonous (they do bite), there are poisonous snakes in the area.

About a week ago, a little boy was bitten by a cottonmouth at CBR. He spent several days in the hospital recovering. Two local kids were bitten by poisonous snakes this past week. One was bitten by a cottonmouth. The other was bitten by a pygmy rattlesnake.

Because we've had so much rain lately, many snakes have been driven to higher ground. You are more likely to see them right now. Stay away!

OMG - deathly afraid of snakes. I'm going to pray that Orlando dries out really well in the next 23 days. Of course since DH and I are both deathly afraid of snakes we've passed this onto our children. You can be sure they will never be playing with any snakes.

I've told my kids about the gators, snakes and amoeba in the water at Floriday. I never even let them put their feet in the lagoon or lake. Yet you would be surprised at how many parents (especially at the Polynesian for some reason) are letting their kids wade through that water, apparently oblivious to the signs saying stay out of the water. It makes me shudder to think what could happen.

:faint:
I thought this was an alligator thread...I should have known better...
I'll take alligators over snakes any day...even a big, fat, huge alligator over a teeny tiny snake....
Never seen a snake so far, does anyone have an odds chart? # of trips:seeing a snake?
:crazy:

Here gator gator. Haven't seen a gator. I've seen a good amount of deers riding the monorail out to EPCOT. Staying at the WL sitting at the pool a nice big long black snake zipped by everyone. A couple of scream and it went on its way. :happytv:
