In January there was a good size gator sunning himself in the pond area across the street from ASMu, we saw it from the bus on our way to Movies. We, being stupid tourist, were thrilled, not something one sees along the roadway in Nevada, that is for sure. We would never go near one, but really cool to view from afar.
My inlaws live in a retirement community in Bradenton, FL. and they have had a resident gator in the ponds on the property for years. We have never let the kids go near any water in FL. unless it is clorinated and contained on all sides with cement walls, preferably with a lifeguard in attendance! Even the beach gives me the willies cause of the sharks!
Living in a land locked state has it's advantages..................
