Alligators?

Awe I have seen a gator at WDW or Orlando wild yet. I would love to see one living wild. We might be doing the boggy creek airboat ride or an excursion so I can see an alligator. I love reptiles.

Over the years we have seen small gators in the canal at Downtown Disney. I have seen many on the golf courses. We saw a 14 foot one removed from a pond on the Palms Golf Course and last year we counted 5 on Eagle Pines Golf Course. Never have seen an aggressive one.

Was There 2 weeks ago and I think I saw the same Gator at CSR, he just hung around watching everyone watch him but being a Florida Native they are pretty much everywhere and you just never know so tell the Son not a good Idea and I agree with everyone else on the Bacteria in the water, not good.... I took pics but they are on my Phone and have no Idea of how to post but I am almost sure its the same gator, Here in Florida they show up in your pools and back yards.... and they are big..........and mean and they can try to bite you or eat a pet which unfortunatley has happened.........

University of Florida...Florida GATORS! There is a reason, there are lots of gators in Florida! Almost every body of water will have a gator. Some are small...some are quite large. Disney has had gators since they opened. Right now and for a couple of months, I think, is their mating season. That can make them more aggressive. Just be aware.

You really won't have a problem...respect them.

I'm glad my son (10) doesn't know about the alligators on the golf course!
I always tell him he doesn't need to play golf at WDW, he can play golf at home. If he knew he might come across an alligator on the golf course , he would want to go golfing even more just for the chance to see one.

Being from "up north" I could use some info (warning probably a VERY dumb question)...

Why don't the crocs (or worse yet...DO THEY REALLY??) come up on to the beach at some where like the Poly??

We saw the one hanging out under the bridge by the walkway in frontierland (the water between Frontierland and Tom Sawyer Island).

The stupid people were feeding him turkey legs....ugh....

In January there was a good size gator sunning himself in the pond area across the street from ASMu, we saw it from the bus on our way to Movies. We, being stupid tourist, were thrilled, not something one sees along the roadway in Nevada, that is for sure. We would never go near one, but really cool to view from afar.

My inlaws live in a retirement community in Bradenton, FL. and they have had a resident gator in the ponds on the property for years. We have never let the kids go near any water in FL. unless it is clorinated and contained on all sides with cement walls, preferably with a lifeguard in attendance! Even the beach gives me the willies cause of the sharks!

Living in a land locked state has it's advantages..................

Have they ever been known to come up on the beach like at Poly, GF or WL - would they be more likely to be out of the water in the day or dark??

they want nothing to do with you. we've got a couple in our backyard lake, they dart whenever they see a person.
