Alligators in Seven Seas Lagoon?

I couldn't think of where to post this so thought I'd try here. Today over lunch some friends were telling DW and I about their stay at the Poly. They said they were swimming in the lagoon . I know no swimming is allowed there. A CM told them there were alligators in that water. Is this so?

Yeah, it is Florida and alligators find their way in ALL fresh water. More troubling than that is ameoba! These critters invade the nasal cavity and migrate to the brain....once there, there is no getting rid of them. They proceed to digest the human brain. ALL stagnant fresh water bodies in Florida carry these little killers. Good enough reason for me to stay OUT of all fresh water.


Since I have been vacationing in Fla....since 1980...I have heard of *4* cases of these ameobas.

I guess it only makes sense. Gators would be in any body of water that size in FL. I guess I just never thought about it. It sure doesn't make me want to ride a jet-ski out there.
