We are planning to be at Universal for 3 days to tie up our vacation at Disney.I am thinking of staying onsite but realise that they allow pets in the rooms. My DS6 has asthma and I don't want to get him allergic and spoil all his fun. Do they have rooms that cater for children with allergy problem? Or should I keep my room at AKL and take a cab to the Universal parks?

Yes, tell them when you reserve then most importantly call the hotel directly and ask for a manager. Have them note on your reservation that you do NOT want a first floor room (pet rooms) or any room that has been used by a pet or a smoker. Call ahead the day before and make sure then and at check-in that you want your room sanitized. I have terrible asthma and did fine here but you must speak to someone in charge and be very sure that they know they can endanger someone's life if this isn't done. Have fun and don't worry there are very few pets but smokers would be my concern. I also had them change the comforters in case there had been smoking. Hope this helps!

thanks, I sure am relieved to know they would sanitise the room prior to our stay. Would call as you have advised. Thanks again.
