Hi! Due to a miscommunication, our travel agent did not note my DD's food allergy on our ADR's. Will this be a problem for us in getting a chef to come speak with us? Or can we just inform them when we check in at each restaurant?

Thanks!

A couple of times I've forgotten to have a peanut allergy noted on the ADR, and just mentioned it when we were seated. The chef came to the table. If it's one of the common food allergies, you shouldn't have any problem at all. You could also ask your travel agent to call dining and have the allergy added to the ADR.

Top 8 or something common like diabetic or glutton free is no problem. Not sure we have ever noted it on our ADR. We inform waiter as soon as we are seated. Never been an issue for us. If it is something very unusual that they may need to get special items, I would call and have it added.

We made a couple of last minute reservations and forgot to note my multiple allergies on one (Boma) but I mentioned when I checked in and they stamped the receipt and the waitress saw it and had the chef come out.

Your TA can call anytime and have it noted. If you have the confirmation numbers you can call and add it yourself as well. Unlike your room that only your TA can ,make changes to, you can make changes to your dinning as long as you have the confirmation number.
Is there a reason your TA has to called back and had the allergies noted?

Your TA should call and have the allergies noted on the ADRs. This is part of your TA's job.

That being said, if the allergies aren't noted then it won't be a problem. When you check in at the podium, tell the CM there that you have somebody in your party with allergies. The CM will stamp the slip of paper they give the server and the server will notify the chef. We've had many ADRs over the years where somehow the note about our allergies was missing from ADRs yet the chefs were still just as great about taking care of us.

If she has any non-top 8 allergies or she has 4 or more allergies then you can contact the Special Diets department and they're supposed to notify the chefs ahead of time that you're coming (not that it usually makes a difference since the chefs really are great with allergies, but occasionally a chef will do something special if he knows ahead of time).
