Allergy friendly restaurants in Downtown Disney?

Are the restaurants in DTD owned by Disney and therefore follow their allergy practices? If not, does anyone having any dining experiences at DTD restaurants dealing with allergies? Thanks.

My husband has a shellfish allergy and we have eaten at pretty much all of the restaurants in the parks and in DTD. We just tell them in advance and have never had a problem. Ralph Brennan's even made him a special version of a dish that normally has shrimp in it.

Just to note, another option withing walking distance of DLR is The Cheesecake Factory in the GardenWalk complex on Katella. TCF has a corporate policy now of trying to adapt the menu to customers' allergies and special needs. From what I hear, the policy is quite similar to Disney's.
As someone who also deals with food allergies and sensitivities, I always appreciate knowing there are more options available.

I'm not quite sure if Disney owns the restaurants at DTD... but I'm sure they have good policies in regards to allergies.

Perhaps pick a restaurant that interests you and call in to inquire about it? Or you could even browse reviews on Yelp or Tripadvisor and look up the term "allergy." For example: http://www.yelp.com/biz/ralph-brennans-jazz-kitchen-anaheim?q=allergy

We have kids with tree nut allergies. Our visit to Rainforest Cafe was good in regards to allergy awareness. With all the macadamia crusted dishes, we were concerned. But the chef came out to the table and reassured us everything would be fine. And it was!

None of the restaurants in DTD are owned or operated by Disney. You could always try the restaurants at the hotels.

We were just there last week with DD15 who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and peas.

We ate at DD twice, once at Catal and once at Naples.

Catal actually had notations on the menu for things that were nut free. We did not speak to a chef or manager, but our server was very allergy aware.

At Naples, the manager came to our table to discuss menu options. He also checked back with us shortly after our food was delivered to make sure everything was ok.

We were very pleased with both places and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
