My 4 year old has an egg allergy. Last time we visited, he was able to get an egg free Mickey waffle when we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's which he loved! When we ate with the princesses at Akershus, it was a Vans egg free waffle. Fine to eat, but not as exciting as a Mickey waffle! Does anyone know of any other character dining locations that serve the egg/allergy free Mickey waffles?

Thanks so much!

My Ds had one at Ohara. Of course he didn't eat it because he doesn't like breads, muffins, cakes...sigh...where did he come from???

That was 5 years ago.

I would think chef mickeys has them too.

It totally changes by what they have on hand, how busy they are, and what chef is working that day. It's one of those things you just have to wait and see on though Chef Mickey's and O'Hana seem to frequently be willing and able to make them.

They serve Van's waffles at Akershus, CRT and Crystal Palace. Sometimes you can get Mickey pancakes at CP.
They will make allergy Mickey waffles at Chef Mickey, 'Ohana, 1900 PF, Cape May, Tusker House and I think the buffet in Hollywood Studios (my brain's blanking on the name but it's the one with Disney Junior characters).
I think that's all the character breakfasts, isn't it?

Thank you so much! Certainly makes planning easier. The Vans waffles are fine, but the Mickey waffles are super special, especially to an allergy kid who usually misses out. We are hoping to try Tusker House and Cape May this trip!

I TOTALLY get what you're saying. We don't do many breakfasts because there are so few breakfast foods one of my kids can eat so if we're going to sit down for breakfast, it'll be somewhere we can get Mickey waffles. I'm not paying that kind of money for frozen waffles that I can (and do) buy at home.

We really enjoyed breakfast at both of those restaurants. The chefs came up with lots of tasty foods for us, including our beloved Mickey waffles. I know I have reviews somewhere among the reviews linked in my signature. We definitely at at Cape May when we stayed at YC so that means there's a review in that dining report. Tusker House was probably the trip before that though I'm not positive. The first post in each of the reviews lists the resaurants being reviewed so it wouldn't be hard to find them if you're interested.

Just an fyi last time we were at hollywood and vine in hs they were vans.

We have successfully had Mickey waffles at chef mickeys, ohanas and tusker house,

This trip i have found out that many of the resort restaurants have them as well. Contempo cafe and aoa are listed we just have not had them there yet.

We have had vans at crt. Akershus, hollywood vine, and crystal palace. Crystal palace was the worst chef we have ever encountered. He made us feel like were bothering him and he could not understand why we would not the allergy free food that was up at the buffet. We have several allergies and could not risk the cross contamination. We only had him bring one plate of food but he certainly made us feel uncomfortable about it. We have not been back there. Again it all just depends on who is working at a restaurant and when. :moped:

This is a link to my post with the same question. They have a lot more listed
Good luck

OMG, I agree about CP, they brought us out soggy frozen vans waffles. DH and DS were so disappointed. DS does not eat eggs, texture thing so the menu was very limited.

We just went in June 2013.

I think that AoA and CSR are the only resort CS locations that don't do Mickey waffles. AoA does do character ones though I'm not sure which at the moment. Last summer they had Nemo ones but I've read of different characters since them. Still yummy, still cute, but not Mickey.

I think AoA must change a lot because I got a Mickey waffle there in September last year. Nemo and oter characters weren't even options. They are really yummy, especially the ears. :)

That's so weird. Last August when we first arrived the large waffles were the giant Mickeys and the small ones were round Nemo ones. By the time we left the large ones were replaced by the standard round ones.

Early this year (I think that's when) I saw a few reviews stating other characters (I think maybe Lion King?). Now it seems they had Mickey ones not too long after we were there. I wonder why they keep swapping out the allergy waffle irons?

Regardless of the shape, they are YUMMY! I have to agree though that there's just something about dipping Mickey's ears in a cup of maple syrup and biting it off. Wait, did I just share a little too much info? :rotfl2:

Nope, Mickey's ears always taste the best.
I wonder if I got the Mickey waffle because of my tapioca allergy? It did take little over half an hour so the chef might have dug out a new/old waffle maker for me. At the time I didn't really think about it because I was so surprised that they had a gluten & tapioca free waffle.
