Does anyone have any good recipes for an allergy free dessert.

My DD is allergic to Eggs Milk Wheat Peanuts and Sesame Seeds. We are trying to come up with some home made goodies for the holidays but if a recipe doesn't have one ingredient on her allergy list it has another.

We would like to give her something special other than Tofutti ice cream or a store bought snickerdoodle cookie. We would also like others to enjoy it too as she is only 2 and is starting to catch on that we are eating different things than her.

TIA:wizard:princess:

Here's one of our favourites. It's basically rice krispy treats but safe.

1 generous cup Ricemellow crème or Fluff
1-1/2 t. margarine, or oil
3 c. GF brown rice krispies cereal (I use Envirokids chocolate)
Optional: 3/4 c. Enjoylife chocolate chips
Heat margarine or oil in a microwave or on stovetop.
Add Ricemellow creme and stir until smooth.
Add optional ingredients, then rice krispies, and stir to blend.
Press into an 8X8" pan (spray pan with no-stick spray first, for easy removal of treats).
Chill until firm and cut into squares.
Store in refrigerator.

Can she handle tree nuts or sunflower seeds? If yes then here's another favourite. It's a quick and easy fudge recipe.

1 cup nut butter of choice (if tree nuts are off limits then use sunbutter or soynut butter)
1 package chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmallows (Kraft Jett Puff)
Melt nut butter and chocolate in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until melted evenly.
COOL for 5 minutes.
Toss in marshmallows and pour into greased 8x8 pan and refridgerate.
Cut into squares and store in a covered container in the fridge.

Did you know that WDW now carries Enjoy Life cookies? There are a HUGE hit with my kids. I buy them by the case from amazon.com as this is cheaper than any stores in my area.

Thanks those sound yummy. We love enjoy life cookies. It is one of the few brands that we really trust. We just found enjoy life chocolate chips so I am planning on making as much as I can with them.

Anyone else have any recipes or ideas??:wizard:

Enjoy Life just came out with an allergy free cookie cookbook. It is AWESOME! It covers gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, etc. Honestly, it's just fantastic. You can get it on amazon pretty cheaply too. :thumbsup2 It's great for the holidays!

I also have gotten some decent recipes out of Babycakes recipes from the bakery in NYC. It's not as good as the Enjoy Life one. Plus, half the recipes use spelt which doesn't help those with Celiac.

Enjoy Life has a cupcake cookbook coming out in January too!

If you're looking to try out some homemade recipes, I would recommend looking at Karina's website: http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/. I'm gluten free so I've tried a lot of her recipes, but she's allergic to an unfortunate amount of stuff so she also does egg, milk and nut free recipes. I've used Pamela's baking mix as a general all purpose flour and have had a lot of luck with that. Happy cooking!
