I am glad I got the second opinion. I am very comfortable with this treatment and he explained things to me and he will see her in the fall to see how she is doing. He said after that he likes to see athletes every 6 months to make sure the treatment is still working well.
Wow, this sounds SO much better!! It sounds like her asthma is so mild that you don't need a peak flow meter, but the first doctor should have instructed her on how to use her inhaler. It's not instinctive for children; they need to be shown how. It's a very rare child that can do it properly without a spacer.
This second doctor seems much more experienced with asthma and aside from the primary goal of your DD staying healthy, he met the very important goal of you understanding and feeling comfortable with the plan.
