......BEES!!!! I was just wondering how bad they are at the parks?!? I have an epi pen that im getting re-filled cuz it has expired, so i'll have that.... but how bad are they... especially in october, because that's when im going!

Anyone have any advice?!?

And while im on the topic of bugs, How bad are mosquitoes and nats and stuff? Will i need to bring the bug spray when i go down there?

We had a bee incident in May '04. My daughters were riding on a watermouse. Truthfully I think the bee was just trying to take a break after flying across 7 seas lagoon but my then DD18 started swatting at it and it stung her. When she returned to the marina. Right away the CMs called me in my room to see if she was allergic and they administered first aid. She started feeling like she was going to faint and they fed her. (she's not good with pain). But other than that I've only seen bees new the flowers. Considering you are going in Oct you should be fine but better safe than sorry.

As far as mosquitos bring your OFF! They are very active in Oct. But usually most active at dawn and dusk.

DBF and I can't ever recall seeing a bee even in the places we eat outside (like in MGM) I wonder if the mass amounts of birds that surround the CS tables keep them away? We've honestly never even had a problem with flies....

thanks for your replies! I'm bringing my epi pen just in case, but it's a good feeling to know that the CM's take good care of you too!

I used to run away (fast) if i ever even saw a bee... but i've grown out of that stage since i'e grown up. Mosquitoes dont really bug me (haha no pun intended), but it's just a pain to keep swatting at them, so OFF it is!

epfootballcutie04 - By all means bring your epipen, just in case. I'm not allergic to them, but I hate bees, wasps, hornets, and their relatives. I think WDW must spray, because we rarely see ANY at WDW (and believe me, I'm on the lookout!). For us, they're much more of a problem at home.

Bring your epi pen and you may also want to carry
some benadryl tablets with you.

Make sure someone with you knows of your allergy
and how to properly use your epi pen.

You may also want to consider a medic alert pendant
or braclet - to warn others of your condition.

We visited in March/April and April/May and I don't remember seeing any bees or being bothered by mosquitos at all. I'm sure there are a few around, but it was never an issue.

My husband says Disney doesn't allow bugs on the grounds.

But bring your pen with you. And also have a card or something that says you are allergic to bees. As for mosquitos and gnats, I've never really been bothered. Now, if you go when the seagulls decide they are going to be there, well, bring a hat.
