Allegiant Air out of Allentown, PA

That would be ideal but I absolutely must be back Thursday evening. We leave on another trip Friday afternoon, so I can't come home on Friday. Actually the rest of the ladies I'm going to WDW with are coming home on the AT flight on Friday. They got it for $59! We all go down Sunday 10/24 for $59, then they return Friday, sadly I must leave on Thursday. Just one of those things when you have small kids at home yet! Gotta do what I gotta do!

At this point with 2 kids at home (9 & 12) & a spouse that travels all the time for work I'm just thankful I can get away on any kind of girls trip let alone WDW - so I take what I can get!

Now how to tell DH that the girls are planning 2 trips next year - Flower & Garden Festival in March & early Nov. once the holiday decorations are up.....

Hmmm, you might be able to count me in for that Flower & Garden. That is one festival that I have yet to make.

Finally bit the bullet and booked with Allegiant out of Allentown for Aug 6 returning Aug 14. Five of us going at around 200.00 per person. Price listed was 59.99 ea way but then add all the extras and that is what we ended up with. Only booked 1 suitcase and am hoping to do the rest with carryons. I got really tired of watching the fares every couple of hours and looked tonight at midnight and they dropped 20.00 ea way.

I don't like to fly, BUT, with the kids in school in Sept, I am seriously considering flying to WDW.

DH isn't going and doesn't want to drive to Philly, so Allentown is our best bet. I see they have AirTran and Allegiant to FL.

Can anyone offer advice regarding these airlines?

A friend "booked" us a flight in Sept, and it came to about $1100 for the 4 of us, including a rental car. Is this a good deal? The price before "confirming" doesn't have any other hidden fees to it, does it?
Airtran had horrible times, and I think the return flight was quite high.


My friend said her father flies this airline all the time and never has any problems. Since I wlll be alone w/ 3 kids, none of whom have ever flown (I've only flown twice), I don't want any hassles or surprises.

Our other option is the auto train, which we enjoyed, but more of a time factor with that. Price is cheaper, but requires some driving. It is still a consideration.

I don't get this? If dh isn't going, why should he care where you fly out of? You may do better flying SW out of Philly. No baggage fees, seating fees, booking fees, etc. Just add tax to price you see and you can send away for a $25 off a RT coupon that applies discount to each passenger so no need for multiple coupons. Free snacks and non alc drinks in flight.
In the long run, depending on where you're coming from, it might be cheaper to drive yourself and pay to park or have a car service take you there. Maybe not. Just sounds like Alleg. is a ton of fees for not a lot of choices of flights. SW has multiple non stops every day.
We got flights for $86 plus tax each way in Sept.

Finally! Fares starting to come down for August.......I booked our flight going down on August 15th at $59....I'm sure it will go lower, but I can live with $59. As for the return flight, I'm waiting that one out...it is still at $127 with not many seats sold yet....anyone else still waiting or booked recently?

I just booked our flight for $59 this morning. I've been waiting also. Going on the 6th and returning the 14th of August. To bad they add all of those fees. Still $200.00 round trip isn't bad.

Yay you all booked! $200 round trip from ABE isn't bad at all. I've paid $275 RT on major carriers with layovers from ABE!

I think she meant her DH didn't want to drive them to Philly & pick them up there - he's not going but they live much closer to ABE & he would be taking them & picking them up. He didn't want to do that in Philly. Traffic south to Philly from The Lehigh Valley is a nightmare most times & can take 90 min. to 2 hours each way.
