Allegiant Air New Service from STL Mid-America to Sanford

Remember, this is Mid-America Airport (BLV), not Lambert-St. Louis International (STL).

GW's right...I meant to note that, so I changed it in the title. I've heard parking is free at Mid-America.

Thanks for the post. I'll be checking it out later. We are planning to travel May 2006. Anyone with experiences from this airline.

Well, they just came to our local airport too here in springfield, mo. They are giving us service to vegas and orlando. My sister flew with them to vegas and thought they were great. I just recently flew SWA to Orlando in sept but the allegiant service to sanford didn't become available until october so I missed out on that deal. But, next time I'll be able to fly from home instead of KC or STL, so I'm happy about not having to drive 3 hours! I have noticed however, that some of their feb/march prices are $199 one way, so if they just do cheap intro fares and then have expensive fares the rest of the time, I may still be driving for the cheaper deals.

we have them here in DSM and we found a better price thru WDW travel co with American believe it or not!! Plus with the free ME...it would have been mroe to fly to Sanford with them!! Besides they are up to 199 one way during March :earseek:
I would drive to KC before I paid that much to fly no frills carrier!!

they are non stop though so that is cool...

we are driving Spring Break 2006

I think that has to to with Spring Break and supply/demand. We are flying out of Des Moines in December. The first flight is $69 and the second is $89. This was much better than anything else I could find. I noticed the closer it got to Christmas, the more expensive it got.

I'm very excited about the non-stop flight. It's the only one from Des Moines.

 hi!!

from des moines too!!

the non stop thing is great but no use of ME and we really liked ME service!!
there are some positives and some negatives but those rates are great from our city!!

I completely agree. We debated b/w the non-stop flight and the ME service. I would have paid extra to go to MCO and use ME instead of renting a car from Sanford but the price difference for us was huge. American was over $300 and United was over $500 per person.

We are taking the kids in June so I'm anxious to see what pricing looks like then and which airport we will end up using.

I hate to fly so I have to admit, the anxiety is a lot less on the non-stop flight as I hate take-off.

Last year we ended up getting the best prices out of Cedar Rapids(live in Newton) so we flew from there.

They came to Peoria, IL in about April/May and are ceasing the FL run effectively the end of November - didn't last long here.

WE live in SW MO also, I called Allegiant for air for March came back with $425.00 round trip, that is still to much for us. And with the extra cost of flying in to Sanford for Transporation to WDW. It still is a better deal to drive to Kansas City and fly SW. Also can chose the day we want to fly....

how much is it from KC in March?? Any guesses?? We may look into flying from KC in March instead of driving (Although looks like driving is our only option as of now!! )TIA!!

I am still waiting for South West to open there March dates? I hope it will be $200 or less. I just will not pay $425 each to fly out of Spfd Mo on Allegiant air. For the three of us it is still cheaper to drive to KC...
