Allegiant Air has crazy cheap tix right now!

For that price I wish that they flew out of Dallas! I STILL can't find bargains from this place.

5 month old babies travel easily...plan it for when your baby is around that age!;)

We took our last one at 6 months and 18 months, he's now 24 months. So, we certainly WOULD if we could. But the wife will have no time off after maternity and I only get 2 days off during the school year as a Guidance Counselor, so no luck. We travel in the summer, Xmas-New Years, or not at all. Oh well. Hope some of you guys can get the great deals. :hippie:

I'm not pushing hard to make other hate Allegiant! If I could get a flight on them for under $30 pp each way I'd fly them in a heartbeat.
I just want people to realize that it is probably not worth it for people to fly them if they are paying over $90 or so pp to fly them..there are other airlines!
Just trying to show both sides of the story!

We have never heard anything about Allegiant that is negative, except they do nickel and dime you to death, with the seat selection and all the fees, but it's still usually by far the cheapest around here.I think maybe that situation could have been more of an exception, but of course if it happened to me I'd be upset too...budget shouldn't equal a rude crew.Sorry for your bad experience.I have seen loads of negative stuff like this about Spirit Air, but I am like you,if it saves you a ton of dough,it's tempting. We're doing Allegiant for October trip to Dis/Universal,but it is only about an hour and 20 min. flight.Crossing my fingers for a good experience.:goodvibes

We flew with alligent air from Knoxville TN down to Sanford, and it was a clean, nice, quiet flight. We were only in the air for an hour or so and it was very nice.

OH and FYI all living in or near tri cities air port in Blountville TN, Allegiant air now flies from TRI to MCO!!!!!!

We fly the TRI, and I think this will be SO much better(convenience wise) than Sanford. Can you do Magical Express from Allegiant/MCO to Disney?

Personally, if they save me over $50-100 per person ... I will sit seperate from the wife, allow them to be rude to me and make fun of me, and charge me $1 to pee if they have to!!! For an hour flight, it is all good. Just get me and my bag there in one piece, please!

I don't see why you couldn't do ME with Allegiant. I haven't done it yet, but I don't think it has anything to do with what airline you come in on, just that you come into MCO. Anyone know for sure?

That's how I feel, too! For that price, i don't need anyone to be pleasant, I just need to get there! I also don't pay any of those extra fees like the seat selection , preferred boarding fees. I'm flying with a 5 year old. Separate all of us if you dare!

Allegiant is great! And really, at $29 from my local airport straight to Orlando....we can't DRIVE for that cheap! Rent a $11 car from priceline and you are all set!!

I have never used Priceline for a car rental. How does that work? We usually use Dollar.

I just hope they have good rates next year around thanksgiving time!!! Our truck has 130K miles on it and we really dont wanna take it to Fl from here. its about 13 hours one way and not that it wouldnt make it and back, it is very well maintained....Dh is a mechanic....Its just that many more miles to put on the truck....UGH!!! Cheap flight or rent a car????

Alleigiant is the worst airline we ever flew. The crew both in the air and on the ground is awful.
Then, the fares look reasonable until you add the bags and the seat selection and the other things. It ends up costing the same as Southwest which has great crews. Plus Allegiant lands at Sanford which is not our favorite airport by a longshot.
Push comes to shove, I'd drive the 9 hours if Allegiant was the only flight choice.

Allegiant no longer flies into Sanford from most locations. From ABE and most locations (ABE is the OP's airport) it is MCO. You are mistaken or using old info.

We flew them a couple of years ago. The service was terrible. In fact, they no longer fly out of the airport we used. People were complaining right and left. I don't know if this played a part but it's no big deal because as I posted, we'd drive before flying on this airline again.

Funny how the title of this thread is NOT "Do you like Allegiant air", but people seem to be reading it that way.

Allegiant now flies direct from Knoxville to MCO- Orlando International- we just did it last week. 1 hour 15 minutes non-stop and with Magical Express on top I think we may never drive again. Family of 4 for less than $600 round trip.
ETA- yes, you can use the Mgical Express with Allegiant. We did and it was great. I also opted NOT to pay for the seat assignment and priority boarding- it saved almost $200 in fees and did not matter a bit once we got there. If they even announced the priority boarding I did not hear it and DH and I were seated 2 and 2 with our children with no problems. I say don't pay the fees and get the bare bones ticket.

I think its important that people share their good and bad feelings about something. It helps others make informed purchases.

Funny too when people post on a public discussion board and then don't like discussion.;)

I didn't jump on this quickly enough (waiting to talk to DH when I get home from work). NOw all the cheap flights have gone way up! :scared1:

I'm definitely keeping this in mind for December! It might even be cheaper without our SW credit, and we don't have to deal with PHL. Win-Win!

If we do opt out for seat selection what do they about seperating young children. What I mean is will they make sure my 4 and 2 year olds sit with at least one of us? I am considering booking for September and it is about $100 less if we opt out of selecting our seats.

I didn't read the entire thread, but does Allegiant now charge for carry ons?
