Will be flying allegiant air with 2 kids. One uses a booster car seat which I know can not be used on the plane. I also know they are fee crazy.

If I take a backless booster will they let me put it under the seat on board (assuming it fits. It's 7.5" high). Or put it in the over head bin without paying the carrying fee? I'd think it would be easier for them to let me put it on board rather than have them carry to and from the cargo area. Especially since they check car seats for free.

Thoughts?

I don't know. I would just ask when you get there, since you can gate check it for free anyway.

Pretty sure you can only gate-check a stroller or carseat free - not a booster seat. A very quick check of Allegiant's luggage policy shows the one free personal item can't exceed 7" x 15" x 16", so it seems the OP's won't fit. It can be packed in the checked or carry-on luggage.
