I received my Allears newsletter today and noticed a tip about Southwest airlines which I'll be flying next month to Orlando. They recommended checking to see if your flights were available at a cheaper rate. I checked and mine were! I received a credit of $300 for future flights. While I didn't have the fare that would just credit me the money, that's ok. I use Southwest and know that I can use the credits at a later date. Just wanted to pass on the good tip!

Oh, you can also do all of this ONLINE by selecting CHANGE RESERVATION. No calling if you don't want to!!!

That is a nice refund for a future flight. I got $10 today on mine, LOL! Its better than nothing.

We've done this many times over the last few years. Love Southwest!!

The ability to modify reservations so easily without a penalty plus the non-stop flights has made a Southwest lover out of me  And we always seem to get the flight crews that were comedians in another life :rotfl2:

I'm a frequent business traveler so I usually don't check flight price differences but I did start traveling Southwest because they allow standby flights the same day. I was on a Frontier flight and didn't know they changed their policy during a business trip I was on and I couldn't catch an earlier flight to see my kids. I was so mad :headache: So now I fly Southwest that has all these free perks. Yahoo!

This is our first trip using southwest and I am so happy to hear all the good comments about southwest :) I will keep checking my flights but so far they just keep going UP in price. Yay for buying low though!

I wish Southwest would come to Cincinnati or Dayton, OH. I flew to Washington DC from Columbus and love it. They also had the Honor Flight on our trip which was especially heartwarming.

Thank you so much! Some flights went down last week, got a credit. Saw this today and thought, no way they'll go down again, but checked anyway!! Another credit, over $100 this time!! WOOHOO!!

Thanks again!

Andrea

What's an Honor Flight?

Is it only SW or will other flights do this as well?

You would have to check with your airline and what type of ticket you bought. I know that Frontier and United don't do this for their non-refundable tickets unless your flight is bumped more than 2 hours from the original time you booked (and you have to be bumped like the flight time changed or they cancelled it).

Southwest just happens to have a very good exchange policy when it comes to airline tickets. And the free luggage will save us $100 each way!!!
