We definitely did the lifetime subscription for our second TiVo, which actually allows us to burn programs onto DVDs. You can't go wrong with TiVo.

We got our TIVO at Best Buy for $90. I believe it is a Phillips but it only works with Direct TV - so we got Direct TV with the mail in rebates we got the dish and the 3 receivers for free. And as everyone has already pointed out the TIVO acts as a receiver so I am only paying about $6 a month to have another receiver in our bedroom.

We lover our TIVO we got a 2 DVR I think is what it is called so I can record one thing and watch another - or record two things at once - or watch something I recorded and be recording another program at the same time. Kinda nifty huh?
