Trying to make out trip as cheap as possible. First time for a long time not staying on site and having DDP.

Is ponderosa on I-drive, and can anyone recommend steak house type buffets which are cheap as chips :thumbsup2

There are 2 or 3 Ponderosa on I Drive. I prefer Sizzlers myself. Golden corral used to be really good but has had some pretty dodgy reviews lately. If you like Mexican food Don Pablo's is great although not a buffet. Olive garden is good , but about the cheapest place to eat is CiCI pizza.....watch out for the drinks though....they push the price up!

If you are on a budget can I recommend signing up to restaurants email clubs before you go - have your birthdate and anniversary whilst you are away.

Some send you a coupon for a free meal or money off coupon.

Try tony romas, perkins, ihop, tgi friday, mimis cafe - they tend to do the free meal coupons.

Never been but cicis pizza is all you can eat and cheap.

We went to Ponderosa once (8510 International Drive) and it was awful. Yes it's cheap but god it's grim and I don't think the food is very good.

I love CiCi's Pizza. Cheap, good food and an "interesting" clientele!

Golden Corral used to be OK, but it seems to have dropped off.

IHOP is good but not a buffet.

I also love Pei Wei, a Chinese restaurant, which is very good, not too expensive and cooked fresh to order.

Sweet Tomatoes is also very good and there are always coupons about.

We used to eat loads of buffet meals, knew manageress at one Ponderosa who always gave us staff discount we went in that much:rotfl2: but our tastes have changed and rarely go in them now, if you do we like to goto Trails End at Fort Wilderness, not the cheapest or the biggest choice but we like what there is. Offsite we still use Sweet Tomatoes, register with their site for coupons or Google, sites like this post the deals http://dealspl.us/souplantation-coupons

Only been in CiCi's once years ago, just after they opened at LBV, myself and DS really enjoyed it, DW not so much but she is not a pizza fan, cost us $17 for 3 of incl 3 sodas.
Been to Golden Corral a few times OK but we preferred Ponderosa. Totally disliked Sizzler, flies everywhere put us off going back.

As said above register on as many sites as poss, they offer the best discounts, enter your Birthday for about 2 days before you fly, you will then get B/day offers as well.

Looking forward to trying CiCi's on our next trip. We are staying onsite, but usually have one day out on IDrive to go to the premium outlet & pirates cove golf.

Does anyone know how much the IDrive one is? I have a BOGOF coupon for it
