All Time Favorite TV Shows - no longer on.

Oh my goodness - there are so many!

Others have listed Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley and the classic comedies like Lucy.

I haven't seen some of my favorites:

Mary Tyler Moore
Quincy
Rockford Files
Magnum PI
Simon and Simon
Riptide
A-Team

and my favorite show ever - Emergency!

I watch many of these on TV Land and RTN and even Hulu. Yes, sometimes they were corny, and the 70's fashions were pretty bad, but there is an innocence about some of these that you can't get anymore. I think that is why I like the current show Chuck so much, it reminds me of the old stuff.

BTW I've heard that there is a rumor that Rockford is being brought back but I don't see how they can ever cast anyone as well as James Garner for Jim Rockford. I don't think that I'd watch it.

Oh I agree. We used to all pile around the tv to watch these shows every week. Good memories.

Rockford Files

I LOVE Rockford Files!! When I was little, it came on after my bedtime so I wsn't allowed to watch it. But I shared a bedroom with my Grams & sometimes she'd angle her little b&w TV she kept on her bedside table so I could watch! :lmao: We both acted like this never happened until we were caught one day...my Aunt asked what boy I liked & I answered, "Jim Rockford. I just want to kiss his chin". I can still see my mom's shocked face. I still think James Garner is one of the sexiest actors of all time. I guess I've never outgrown my 7 yr. old crush. HeHe.

My list includes:
The Pretender
Friends
Frasier
Gilmore Girls
Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman

I own the whole series of each on DVD except Dr. Quinn. Guess I know what to add to my Amazon cart next time!

I miss them all! :)

....Or if when Nick at Night announces it will be in their line up, you're happy?....

I second the Wonder Years! And thoroughly enjoyed when they did that with the Waltons (Halmark?? - about a year or so ago??) and The Brady Bunch (not sure what channel, maybe 6 months ago.)

To those who want Malcolm in the Middle - that comes on Nick sometimes after DS watches iCarly - so I guess 8:00. We didn't keep it on, but I think it's been more than once, so if you like it, check there.

DH and I were just talking about this the other day! My favorites:

Malcolm in the Middle - Lois is my hero:lovestruc
Love Boat - I'm a sucker for happy endings:goodvibes
Gilligan's Island
Happy Days
Laverne & Shirley
Mork & Mindy
Bonanza
Little House on the Prairie
Brady Bunch
Monkees

Oops! Forgot to add Dallas (only up until the whole "Bobby in the shower - it was a dream" and then it went downhill fast)

The West Wing....I didn't start watching until Season 3, and then I was hooked. Had to buy it on DVD when it came out to see what I missed! I loved Josh Lyman....:lovestruc

Also will miss ER...I can't believe it won't be back in September.

Friends
Buffy the Vampie Slayer

Both of those shows had good long runs though, and I actually think Buffy could've ended after season five, since I didn't like the sixth or seventh season that much, (except I loved the musical episode in season six.)

I also miss "West Wing" & I loved Josh, but I watched it from the beginning. Even so, I bought all 7 seasons on DVD so I can watch it whenever I want to.

I am an "old sitcom" junkie. Some I can still find in re-runs, some are no longer shown, at least on channels I get. :(

All-time favorite, of any show, EVER - Perfect Strangers. I love, love  Balki and Larry. A couple of years ago, Warner released season 1 & 2 on DVD, then quit releasing them. I sure wish they would release the rest of the seasons!! :sad2:

Also:
Gilligan's Island (own all 3 seasons on DVD)
Old Classic Wonderful World of Disney ("vault" stuff)
Addams Family
Munsters
Bewitched
I Dream of Jeannie
I Love Lucy
MASH
Happy Days
Laverne and Shirley
Mork and Mindy

Also loved, and like to catch in re-runs, Friends, Fraser, and Will & Grace

ETA! The Monkees! I had forgotten about the Monkees! Thanks Amy! :) Love them... who couldn't love Davy and Peter and Micky! Mike was just OK...

West Wing
Roseanne
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel

Freaks and Geeks

Fantastic show that was cancelled too soon. I love seeing some of the stars of that show becoming big stars now...James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Judd Apatow, etc.

Another show that was cancelled too soon was Sports Night...produced by Aaron Sorkin. Great show.

Oh, and I loved watching "The Love Boat" (love...exciting and new .....) and "Fantasy Island" on Saturday nights. I was always so fascinated by all those people going on vacation!

The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Man, I lived through those shows as a young teen. I love the 70s.

I used to babysit almost every Friday night, and would always make sure the kids were in bed before Love Boat and Fantasy Island came on. Loved those shows. My mom used to love Dallas, and Dynasty, and I liked to watch with her. These were all in my pre-teen years, but looking at this list...boy do I feel old!

Also, someone previously mentioned, 90210 (the original one), Melrose Place, and Ally McBeal...staples in my house back in the day.

More recently, I really liked Las Vegas, and was sad when it became a victim of the writers strike. Although I liked it better with James Caan.

But I have to say one of my all time favorites was Cheers.

There are so many!

China Beach
The Wonder Years
Home Front
Twin Peaks
Murder One
Third Watch

and I really wish PBS would re-run Tales of the City
