All These "I'm Not Going to WDW Ever Again!" Threads

If you aren't happy, then don't go. It's really quite simple. What good does whining about it do? What I don't get are all the people complaining how awful the new system is when they haven't even tried it yet. :confused3

I really wish people would stop spouting this tired sentence. Plenty of people have tried the new system. And didn't like it.

I didnt see where the OP was trying to tell anyone not to post, just questioning the validity of that kind of post being on the Theme Parks Attraction and Strategies Board.

I guess by telling everyone that you arent going back to Disney is a "strategy" per se but it seems if that kind of venting would belong on another board unless the intent of the DIS is to drive more traffic to their site and those kind of threads generate said traffic.

I find it quite amusing when people say that it is easy to pass by threads they have no interest in but post in threads to complain about a person who is complaining about other people who are complaining ad nasuem about the FP+ system

I guess they miss the irony it in all.

Maybe there could be a Venting and Frustrations board?

I would vote for a new section just about fp and bands and have it separate from threads about attractions, but I'm a newbie to these boards....

I will say that I'm amused at the folks who are saying they won't go to WDW again because of the FP+ thing. I believe that people are seeing only the potential problems and letting that dissuade them from even trying. I think Disney has its hands full counteracting this perception, which is bigger than I've seen for any other change before. Yes, even bigger than the change actually enforcing the FP return window.

Basically this. You can still tour and FP+ will make almost NO changes to the way that the vast majority of people enjoy Walt Disney World. If people want to pitch a fit, let them go somewhere else. Whatev.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to delete this thread it's just asking the mods to move complaints to a single thread or make a new forum. If that happens this thread can be deleted.

I just counted 38 of the first 50 threads in this forum that had absolutely nothing to do with FP+

Today. There have been days I've seen almost nothing but FP+ complaining and condemnation. And there have also been times I start reading threads that barely mention FP+ and by the end, someone has shown up and it's turned into an argument about touring styles and why one is better than another or why someone won't ever be going back to Disney.

Too bad. Most of the people whining haven't tried it and the majority of the posts that I've seen from ones that have, have said they had good experiences.

Agreed, we should have a new forum for complaints and threads on why people are not going to WDW anymore.

Folks you do not need to read threads that the topic has no interest to you.
However folks in the community are entitled to post up topics that they are interested in.

Please note that we do not discuss moderating decision in public and therefore cannot act on every plea that is posted. Since this would just lead to more public debates about changes, thread removal etc.

If a post/thread does not meet the board guidelines then report post with a reason is your best option.
As stated ignore the topics which you do not wish to contribute on :thumbsup2

This thread is the correct way to post a counter option :)

How are these various negative threads about the attractions or a strategy. The Disboards is getting worse and worse with whiny negative threads.
I am surprised by all of the negativity here. I hope it ends soon- I know the complaints won't go away entirely but it shouldn't be this bad. It's not normal to complain again and again like that.

If they can't start whiny negative threads about not going back, you shouldn't be able to start a whiny negative thread about their whiny negative thread.

I'm not saying that to be mean, I'm just trying to bring a little clarity. If their thread isn't in the right place or being helpful, neither is yours. You talk about how it's harder and harder to find the helpful threads. This thread is also taking up space on the front page.

It's a Disney board where people talk about all things Disney. Some people are giving up their Disney trips, and are saddened by it, because they still love Disney, it just won't work for them for one reason or another. They are doing the same thing they've always done on this board: find like-minded people and bonding over their feelings.

This. About a million times, this.

Disney is very expensive. If people don't feel they're getting their money's worth--which is a very emotional thing when you're taking about Disney parks--where else would you like them to complain? The world is not all roses, and neither is WDW--and that's actually normal. Wanting people to hide their feelings about it makes things worse.

All good points here- I believe expressing your frustrations can be a good thing. I do it! That's not what I am seeing here. What I am witnessing is a lot of intense heated arguing by the same people in every thread I've opened. I was just want to find helpful tips for my trip and I have to weed through a lot of the same negativity from the same posters. I've only been reading on DIS again for a few days and I'm already getting weary of it.

If this is the new normal- then I'm proud to be part of the old normal. Whenever I have doubts or concerns I will voice them to management and find some place else that will appreciate my patronage instead of complaining on a forum all the time, expecting Disney to cancel mb/fp+ just for me.

Understood. You know, it comes and goes here. The really nice thing about the DIS is that it's not a shallow community and everyone really cares about Disney. If anything, that's where complaints come from. We're all invested in it with our hearts, you know? I'm thinking with all the changes recently (MBs, FP+), it probably couldn't be any other way than people getting thrown out of their comfort zone.

I frequent the DLR boards, and we've had a few WDW vets come over and ask about potential DLR trips in 2014 because the new changes at WDW aren't lined out yet. Last year when DLR closed several headliners after they were fined by Cal/OSHA, I complained there, then came here and got guidance for a WDW trip instead. So it's not specifically WDW, I think it's just the circumstances.

I've been a Disney vet for a long time, but last year more than ever because of bad experiences at our local Six Flags park, so I understand finding somewhere else for my patronage. We decided never to go to Six Flags again, and just made it a big year of DLR and WDW. I doubt most people will make that kind of decision about WDW because of FP+/etc. I really think people just need to blow off steam about the changes and know that other Disney fans hear them. I'm sure many people's opinions will improve once the new systems at WDW have settled into place for a while and all the kinks have worked out.

On the other hand...it is sometimes useful to complain to guest services. You never know when pixie dust might land on you. :hippie:

It's not about hiding it's about putting their concerns in a better place. I don't think this specific forum location is right for these kind of posts. There are many forums and subforums already here and simply wanting these complaints out of this area into one that makes morse sense is perfectly reasonable.
