All Tennesse and Weather Affected Fiends

I came across I 24 Monday afternoon. I have never seen in person anything like it, Pictures just don't do it. My god what a nightmare. Hope everyone gets there lifes back together soon!

I haven't been able to spend much time on here in the last week, and wow! I'm so sorry for all of you that have damage. I'm thankful, though, that you're all ok. I cried when I watched the news interview the woman whose husband drowned trying to save their daughter, who also drowned. What a nightmare! As the others have said, please let me know if I can help out.

Dave, if it would help make things "normal", I can send you buckets of dog poop. I have lots to spare!

We would also love to help anyone who needs it. I experienced the Grand Forks flood, so I know what you are going through. Just let us know what you need and it's yours!

If you guys need some water, bring some jugs or the MH we'll fill you up. :thumbsup2

Found out why local fuel is so high. 4 out of the 6 Nashville fuel depots are still under water.

As of today, we have taken in a another dog...a cocker spaniel that needed a home. So between the old mutt we already had and our newest addition, the yard is being re-poopified quickly.

i htin the ink and solvents are getting to me at work. lol

I knew it! It's just another government plot to redistribute the poop in this country. Rise and protest!!

All kidding aside, anything that is needed is just a post or PM away. Please let us know.

Tide Loads of Hope is coming to Tennessee.

Someone spoke with a representative from Tide just moments ago.

The final destination (City and neighborhood) in Tennessee is not yet determined, but they are anticipating arriving on Wednesday, May 12, 2010

The Tide Loads for Hope trucks can process 300 loads of laundry per day, with high efficiency washers and dryers as part of disaster assistance. The Tide staff will wash, dry, and fold each load of clothes.

If you are aware of someone in need, please let them know this help is coming.

Awww!!! God Bless you for being so generous and caring even when you yourselves are facing some really hard circumstances. I KNEW you were good people!!! :goodvibes :grouphug:

We are at FW now, but spent one night at the Jellystone in Nashville the night the storms started. We were heading south as the leading edge of the "big" storm came in. :scared1: We talked with Jellystone yesterday and they said they are okay and as long as we come in from the north end of Billey Parkway, we can get in okay for our trip back home.

Wow, that's amazing that the Jellystone survived. The Opryland hotel a mile down the road had 10-15 feet of water in the lobbies and will be closed for about 6 months. Anyone that has ever seen that hotel knows the magnitude of what that means. That one hotel accounts for 12% of all the hotel rooms in Nashville....it is HUGE!

So far 31 known drowned. :sad1:

$1.5 billion and counting damage in Nashville alone. :sad1:

It's awful to imagine what it's like. We've been there many times. I hope they can get back to some normalcy real soon.

Just have to share a story about my day. I needed to get into my crawlspace today to remove all my ductwork, all the insulation, and the vapor barrier. Not a pleasant job, but had to be done. I wasn't 5 minutes into the job before 2 teenage boys whom I had never met showed up to offer assistance. Before long, one of their fathers and another man showed up, and then a bunch of other high school kids. I had to have at least 15 people helping me rip out stuff from the crawlspace, and haul it to the curb, where others were waiting to collect things for the dumpsters. We had the whole job done in about 2 hours. And while we were at it, an anonymous man showed up and mowed my lawn! Amazing people in my community. And all this volunteerism hasn't gone unnoticed by the FEMA people on the ground here. They can't believe how much has already been accomplished in 5 days through the efforts of the homeowners and volunteers.

Then, after getting cleaned up a bit, we walked down the street as we have nearly every night this week for a homecooked meal on the front lawn of a house that sits at the corner of the two most flood-impacted streets in my neighborhood. A bunch of folks from the neighborhood that were not personally affected have been providing lunch and dinner every day since the flood to the affected residents and the volunteers.

I know there are good folks everywhere, but I just wanted to share my experience of what is going on these days here in Tennessee; in particular the hard work of a bunch of teenagers that have taken it upon themselves to make a difference. It is remarkable, and it gives me renewed hope for the future of our country.

:goodvibes Thanks for sharing that. While I"m terribly sorry you've had to endure this hardship, it's nice to know there are still kind, good hearted people in this world. Especially the teenagers. I'm glad they were there to help you.
Sure sounds like you have a good bunch of neighbors.::yes::

Sounds like your in some good hands and have some very good neighbors down there Dave!

KUDO's to them all!:thumbsup2

Now that is a neighborhood story that I can hear every day. I am glad to hear there are still people who care, just for the sake of caring.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
