I think it has something to do with having spent most of my summers for my entire life "in northern Michigan"…And, being a huge Lynyrd Skynyrd fan.

Kid Rock has said that Sweet Home Alabama and Werewolves of London (the two songs he uses in All Summer Long) have always been 2 of his favorites and he wanted to write something that incorporated both. Although I am not a KR fan, or Lynard Skynard and Warren Zevon either, I love this song and find myself singing it all the time
