We never stayed at the All Star Sports before - I was wondering about noise. We stayed at the PoP in December and every morning I could hear the baby crying next door. We did have the room with adjoining door. I do not know if that makes a difference. Just wondering is others have had problems with noise at the All Star Sports.

How is the hotel for transportation? Do they have hairdryers in the rooms and coffee pots? Thanks

If a sport team is staying at All-Star Sports, you'll hear more than just a baby crying. Cheerleading teams can be particular loud too. We stayed at All Star Music a couple weeks ago and I heard a baby crying in the next room. At PORS this summer, I heard the person snoring in the next room. I bring ear plugs for "just in case", but have never had to use them. Our room at the All star did not have a blow dryer or a coffee maker.

We stayed at the ALL STAR SPORTS on our last trip to Disney in March 2001. Although the hotel was very busy we had no real problems with noise. We were on the 2nd level in the Surfs Up section. We felt as though we were fairly close to everything--food court, pool, bus. We never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus. The room was small but clean and our housekeeping lady was excellent! DD (5 at the time) would write her a little note each day to leave with a small tip from us. Each evening when we returned she had left a note in reply and would arrange dd's stuffed animals and leave a creative towel animal. On our last morning we finally met her and she had a Minnie Mouse beanie for dd! She talked with us about her own children and taught dd how to make a washcloth bunny! DD still talks about this (a real highlight for her!). We got a great rate for the All Stars for our upcoming trip, and although I was tempted to try a different Disney hotel just for the experience, we booked it! I am hoping for our experience to be just as good this time. Have a great trip!

I don't remember there being any hairdryer at AllStarMusic, but I could be wrong. And no coffee pot. That I would have remembered!!! The bus service from Music was really good, so I would assume that Sports would be the same. As far as noise goes....the connecting room door will add to the amount of noise that travels. We had one at the Polynesian and I can tell you everything the people next door said!!! I think they were pretty loud to begin with, but there were people in the same next door room when we checked in and we only heard them one or two times. I think you might hear a baby crying no matter where you are. We'll be going back to the AllStars in June since our first visit there was so good.

We stayed at All Star Sports 2 years ago and weren't expecting much but we really enjoyed it (even after staying at moderates and deluxes). We were on the 2nd floor of the Touchdown section and the only noise problem we had at all was one morning when the groundskeeper was weed eating outside. Transportation was fine. I like to try new resorts every time but my kids want to return to Sports.

There are no coffee makers at All-Stars at all. However, you can request a hair dryer from housekeeping and they will bring it to you for your entire stay.

We stayed at All Star Sports last year in October and had no problems whatsoever. We ordered a hairdryer, which stayed with our room the entire time. There were "groups" but we had a very quiet location and had a BALL "literally" watching the kids play football each night in the courtyard. ENJOY!!! :wave2:

I think an adjoining room might make a difference. Also you could request a room a little further away - most families want the closest room.

Good luck!

I think all rooms at ASSp are adjoining and the walls are pretty thin. I would be prepared to hear the people in the room next to you. I've heard the family next door in deluxe resorts too. IIRC, there are hair dryers in the room and if there are not you can request one to be sent. Like POP, there are no coffeemakers. You'll have to settle for Nescafe in the food court or a cheap-o coffeemaker from Wal*Mart. For some of us, the extra $10 is well spent ;).

The *best* thing about ASSp is the bus service. The busses stop at ASSp first and then go to the other resorts for pick-up. They also drop-off first.

Thank you so much for all the information you shared. We will be traveling with my parents so hopefully they will be the couple in the room next door. I'm going to fax them our request in a couple of weeks. From what I have read that is the best thing to do for the room assigners.
