Has anyone noticed if the All-Stars are losing customers to the Pop Century (I know its not that they are really losing customers, but its the best way I could think of wording it)?

Well that is what Disney designed POP to do was aid in the releif of AS. Of course its not a packed as it use to be, cause now you can spread the guest out. Now if you mean the guest are choosing to stay at POP and they use to stay at AS then maybe. I prefer AS myself. And the last 2 times calling to make ressies AS was already filled up and POP still had openings.

I don't think they are loosing customers at all, I have had the same experience..all stars booked, pop has openings. They are both great places to stay.

Ditto for me in April - can't get AS, but got POP.

POP was booked solid last week......we booked back in December for the second week of Feb and during a conversation with a CM in the Food Court he told us that the resort was at full capacity. I've stayed at each of the All Stars in the past and most recently POP. We plan to book POP again for this summer.

Jovidan, that is exactly what happened to us last year but we were in Pop Century. I vowed never again to stay at a Value (of course We checked into Pop the night before the hurricane hit and checked out the day after it went through) so I'm probably not being fair. I'm sure I'll try Pop at least one more time for a longer stay not during hurricane season and if I could ever find availability for the All Star Movies (my son loves Buzz & Woody) We'll try the Movies too!

yes but it is hard to serve others when your home - not to mention your family is in danger.

WDW use to let the families of the CM stay in the resort when hurricanes came close.

this time only a few were allowed to do it - most of their families were in shelters... It is very hard to work when you are worried about your family.

of course I am spoiled - if I knew the hurricane was coming - I would stay in VWL or BCV or BWV in a 1-bedroom - these resorts are connect to the main resort. So you won't go star crazy as fast!

After the novelty of Pop Century wears off, that resort will be on an even popularity as the All Stars.

Meanwhile there would be more annual pass discounts and other discounts at the resort with less attendance.

Did any resorts have plenty of food for guests through the hurricanes?

The last I was told, CM's could bring their families to the resorts during the hurricanes for a substantial discount or to shelters (some of which were within WDW) for free.

I agree, having a bigger room would be very helpful (especially with kids) but I read on the DVC boards, that BWV and VWL had lots of trouble keeping guests happy also.....ran out of brown bag lunches etc. I just don't think they (or any of the resorts) were as prepared as they thought they'd be. And I totally sympathize with what the CM's must have been going through also. I didn't hear anything about how resorts such as the Poly, GF or Contemporary etc did during the hurricanes ?

In defence of Hurricans and food Frances hit during a busy time and of course they didn't have enough food and ran out. They buy what they need and sure they din't order extra food for all the people who would be stuck eating there instead of the parks and even once they found out the hurricane was coming it would be too late to order extra food. Florida stores ran out of food as well. I was Stuck at ASMo during Hurrican Jeanne and we had plenty to eat from the resort. maybe they learned a lesson. Back to original post i think AS are still busy I love ASMo but since they are refurbishing them I will be at POP this Year.

They haven't lost me as a customer. I toured POP a couple of week ago and while it was nice and new I still think I prefer All Star Music. I like the tropical theme around the Calypso buildings at ASMu. The buses at POP were way too crowded for my liking. I also didn't like the set up of the food court and store. Seemed really chaotic with the food court and store in one room. Sure ASMu is further out, but I've never seen it as crowded as POP was.
