Anyone there now or know historically if each all star is running its own bus this time of year or are the 3 sharing. We leave in 4 weeks and I'm having last minute hotel 2nd thoughts, may pop instead? i think i get charged if i "modify my reservation" within 21 days, i assume changing hotels would count. Anyone?? TIA!!

Most likely they are sharing. The only times they tend to run their own is when it's super busy peak season.

I would not change simply based on that. I love the AS resorts and never had a problem with bus service. Was there in Sept. and early March.

Not sure if you would get charged or not. If you booked room only, you can cancel up to 5 days in advance I believe, with no fee, so you could book Pop then cancel AS if you wanted to. If you booked a package, I thought it was 45 days.

Bus rides are shorter from the ALL Stars than POP according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses------------Pop buses
MK 20 min---------------MK 25 min
Epcot 10 min------------Epcot 20 min
MGM 10 min--------------MGM 15 min
AK 10 min----------------AK 15 min
DTD 15 min---------------DTD 20 min

The All Star resorts have 1960 rooms each.
Pop has 2,880rooms.
That means more people in the pools, food court and in line waiting for the bus.
When phase 2 of POP is built it will be 2 bus stops at POP and the 2 POPs will have the same # of rooms as the 3 All Stars.

BUS SHARING
It is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes its all 3 but often Sports and Music share and Movies has it's qwn bus back.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3 All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)

Also All Star is closer to the main road to get to parks and thats why bus rides are shorter from there than from POP.

I  the All Star Resorts --they can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 5 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we took dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we stayed at the All Stars Musicfor 8 nights.. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have fun at Disney!

I wouldn't worry about it...we have stayed at All Stars many times, the bus service is excellent.

We actually love the All Stars! We've stayed 3 times at Sports and RARELY have we shared a bus to the park. Coming back I know that the buses are shared- which is one of the reasons we chose the Sports- it's the first stop of the 3 resorts. :) The lines for the Pop bus seem so much longer than the All Stars. I know there are tons more rooms (as mentioned by the PP) and that has to impact the wait times. DH and I are going by ourselves at the end of the month and are staying at AS Sports. We looked into Mods and Deluxe, but for bang for the buck, you can't beat the All Stars!

We stayed at All Star Sports over Christmas and All Star Music over fall break. Bus service at both was excellent...even during the busiest of times. What we found was that we always had our own bus on the way to the park. Enough buses were running that no one was ever left standing at the bus stop waiting for the next bus (a problem we encountered during the summer at WL and a while back at CBR). This is not to say that guests didn't have to stand sometimes. During peak times, we had our own bus on the return trip. During slower times, we shared a bus on the way back with the other All Star resorts. This was not a problem. The order of drop off was: Sports, Music, Movies.

Thank everyone for your responses. I think we'll stick with AsMo. Not long now!!
