We have typically stayed at some of the deluxe resorts and wonder how the all star stacks up? how is the bus service? also, have heard it's very noisy as most school groups stay there? advice needed before booking long weekend in October.

We usually stay at the deluxes as well, but stayed with a school group at the All-Stars this June/July.

I was pleasantly surprised. This resort, while definitely a budget resort, is still filled with Disney music. We stayed at All-Star Music, in the Broadway section. The rooms are small - but ours, at least, was clean and comfortable for two - we usually stay with our family of five in one room at the CR, or a deluxe room at AKL. These rooms would definitely be crowded with 4, unless 2 were little ones.

The bus service was great - never waited more than 5-10 minutes for a bus, and the bus rides were fine - we got a couple of funny drivers - it was my daughter's birthday, and one driver had us singing songs, including "Happy Birthday", and he gave her a Disney "Honorary Bus Driver's License".

The food courts were busy, but lots of selections. Our rooms were not noisy, but I can see how the preferred rooms in the Calypso section facing the pool might be. The pool was very crowded most of the time. Our kids chose to swim in the "quiet" pool nearer to our room.

Although AKL is my favorite resort, because of budget reasons, I will hapily stay at All-Stars again! I have stayed at All-Star Movies twice and the bus service was ALWAYS GREAT!! The food court was good and although the room is smaller, we are not in it enough for it to be a big deal. But, it was just my son and myself.

I think it is VERY DISNEY, too :)

I've never stayed Deluxe..but we split our time between ASMu and Coronado Springs...and I was just as happy with the room at ASMu. Of course CSR was prettier...I had NO complaints about ASMu. The buses were quick, the food court good, awesome pools and a clean room!

I'd stay at the AS again. As stated above, bus service is excellent and the food court is great. We were 2 adults & 2 kids (10 & 12) and we didn't find the room too small at all (yes, bigger would have been nicer but we had no complaints and managed quite nicely)...we even drove to WDW so had a cooler and a few rubbermaid containers in the room ;) ...plenty of room for 10 nights. :) Our room was also very quiet...quieter than our room at the GF. You just have to keep in mind that it is a value resort and not compare it to the deluxes...if you compare it, you won't be satisfied. Take it for what it is...a great inexpensive resort right on Disney property. You're only going for a long weekend anyway. I sure wish I was close enough to pop down for a long weekend. Have a great trip. :)

I love the All Star. I have never had a problem with that resort people say that it's loud with the school groups, I have never had a problem with it being loud. Have fun!! ;)

We've stayed at AS Sp and ASMo- they are very fun resorts! My son had a great time playing with the big icons. We would definitely stay there again.

We stay at the AS sports for all our long weekends...we love it.

Food court has excellent food and a great variety. Try the made to order pastas, or the carved meats...yummy. Also the ready made food, wraps and such are also very good and fresh. The breakfast platter is excellent.

Pool areas are very nice...two laundry rooms.

We prefer the all stars over a moderate resort on any given day.

If we stay deluxe/home away from home...we like AKL, Boardwalk Inn/Villas and Old Key West.
