We are going to DW for the 3rd time this June. Before we've always rented a house in Kissimmee but this time we decided to stay onsite since we are going to be there only 5 days (before heading to the beach). My boys and I looked at all the value and moderate resorts and no surprise to me they picked the All Star Sports. I chose the preferred location which from what I gather is in the Surf's Up buildings. What can you tell me about the rooms? No specific questions really, just tell me anything good or bad you can think of that I should know prior to packing.

The Preferred Location, just change your room location to the Football Section, building 9 and 10 I believe, as its near the food court. ;)

You'll love staying on-site!! The bus transportation is great!! ASSP is the first to be picked up and dropped off before ASMu and ASMO.

I stayed at ASSp a few years ago, but the boys will love it! Don't know if it's been renovated, but maybe someone who's been more recently can fill you in.

Enjoy your stay!!! :teeth:

Purchase refillable mugs for your boys and yourself at your resort, they are about $12 each (ouch! I know  ) it's worth it if your kids will be drinking alot of soft drinks, and coffee for yourself if you prefer :drinking1 They are good for unlimited refill for the length of your stay at your resort. They also make a good souvenir of your stay, they have the resort logo on it. ::MickeyMo

Hi!

My family - DH, DS9,DS6,DS4 and me :grouphug: were at ASsports in 2003 and we stayed at the Surfs up Bldg. The rooms were fine for us since we didn't use them much but to sleep and change. It was basically a hop, skip and a jump to everything :Pinkbounc . We had a great time. This year we are moving up to POR because our little one is now 4 :earsboy:

Same here. My family got 2 rooms at All Star Sports. We were also in the preferred rooms (Surf's Up) and it was really close to the pool, which is really close to the main building. It was nice, and I'd recommend it.

One bad thing my mom found out was that the rooms don't have hair driers (we assumed they'd have them since we'd stayed at the Polynesian so many times- oops!), so if you use one, I'd bring your own.

Poohbear123 - Why do you say to not pay extra for the preferred rooms? I was told that they are closer to everything; food court, pool, transportation, etc. Is that not true...or is 'closer' compared to the other location, not really a big distance difference? Thanks for your feedback. I'm trying to decide to pay the extra $10/night for the 'preferred' rooms.

I don't feel its worth it to pay 10.00 EXTRA a night for Preferred Location, because there are buildings that are close to the Food Court area you can request, without paying extra! I always ask for the Football section, when arriving at Sports, and always get it. One time I got first floor, end room, right about 25 feet to the side entrance to the Food Court, it was great! ;)

Our family will also be at a/s sports - 1st week of June & our TA recommended we get Preferred. My understanding is we will be in the Surf's Up building. Have a Great time!!!! :goodvibes

We did Sports in March 2004. DS9 is a BIG sports fan, so this was awesome for him. He was disappointed that for his brothers b'day Sept. 2005 we are staying at ASMO (DS22's choice). Loved AS S. We all 4 stayed in 1 room, very crowed (3 adults and 1 child), but like most just went there to sleep, shower and change. Even at the resort we were at the pool. My DS9 (8 at the time) loved the "football" courtyard. At Movies we are getting two rooms. We need the extra space. But that should depend on your parties size.

We were in Baseball at AS S, loved the quieter pool, and the walk wasn't too bad. Less than a minute to the lobby and buses. We walked the property and was never gone more than 5 minutes from room. More walks we took were longer as we took things (icons on bdgls. in).

You can ask the front desk for a hairdryer, they'll have it sent up to your room for you!
