Just two questions for my all star sports stay

Do characters ever show up there????

I was reading that a MC Donald is 1/4 mile away. Is this True??? Has anyone walked it???
thanks

I've never seen a character at the values. There is a McDonalds that you could walk to. You'll see it as you go in. We've never eaten there though. I figure since I can eat McDonalds anywhere, I'm not eating it at WDW.

The McD's is convenient but usually extremely crowded at all hours of the day.

I've never seen characters at any of the resorts.

normally I would skip MC D on vac but thought I could use it for a quick breakfast before heading to the park. Trying for the the first time to be there at opening which means no sit down meal. Do anyone have any other suggestions for a quick cheap breakfast? Don't want to pack up food to eat in the room. Usally we are offsite so we take advantage of the great deals in all the breakfast buffets.

We had McDonalds one day of our trip a couple of weeks ago. But every other day... myself or DH would go to the store that is in the hotel and buy a box of donuts and a half gallon of milk and let the kids eat in the room. A couple of times I went to the food court and bought some muffins, danish and bagels with little individual size milks but it sure was more expensive that way. They boxes of donuts that they had at the store at ASMu were Entemann's at around $3.80 a box and the milk was around $2.80 per half gallon. It was really inexpensive. If you buy the food at the food court you will spend quite a bit more. Our kids seemed to be happy with the donuts and milk but they are used to very simple breakfast meals.

I have packed doughnuts and Poptarts in my suitcase before as well as Tang. There are several CS breakfast in the parks that are not expensive (relatively speaking.)

Realize that since the McD is on WDW property its more expensive than your local McD. There is no value $1 menu at this location. We've bought food there because we were at MK til 1am and the McD is opened 24 hours a day. Allstars food courts close at midnight. I think its busier too because of people wanting coffee other than the Nescafe that Disney sells.

We grab breakfast at the Main Street Bakery, Bagels, fresh fruit or be bad and grab a cinnamon roll (its huge, DD14 and I split it and didn't finish it all) Not bad for $2.29.

Right after 9/11 the characers used to go to the resorts on selected days because Disney did away with extra Magic Hours. Now that they have them again no more characters at the resorts.

from all star sports it is probably less than 1/4 mile. I walked it a couple of times from sports. Once even from movies - then it is further than 1/4 mile - might be mile no not that far 3/4 mile.

yes it is more expensive, but still cheaper than some things at WDW.

I have never seen the characters come to the All-star resorts. There is a McDonalds there but we have found that the prices at the resort's food court aren't too much more than the McDonalds.

There use to be a bus of characters that made the circuit of the resorts. That was several years ago and Disney has changed business plans with putting the characters more available in the parks and not at the Resorts.

This picture was taken on our first day at All Star Movies in 2001. It was also the last day of the bus of charaters to the resort experiment. MY olders DS8 at the time enjoyed his first interaction with a character.
