We're staying at the All Star Sports.
I've tried researching this on here and read a couple different things. On May 6 my son and I have an ADR for 7:30am at 'Ohana. I've read that we need to take a taxi, that the bus will take us to MK, or that the bus would take us to Poly. :confused3

What time should we be at the bus stop? If a bus hasn't come by a certain time should we take a taxi?
My son is an early riser so being up and ready to go won't be a problem.

You need to be at the bus stop by 6:30. The bus will drop you off at MK, but if you ask, the driver may be able to drop you off at the Poly.

I would just take a cab, but you definitely need to take one if you aren't on a bus by 6:50.

So now I have some questions about taking a cab; I never have. How much does it cost to go from Sports to Poly? Cash only or can you use a credit card? How much do you tip; is it 20% like a restaurant?

You can look up fares at taxifarefinder.com
Most, if not all, cabs take credit cards, but I find cash easier.
15 to 20% is standard.

And for the question you didn't ask: cabs are plentiful, just ask someone at bell services to call one up for you.

Thank you

We're staying at the ASMovies and going to Ohana for ADR.
The Disney cast member told me the buses run about every 20 minutes and it takes about 30-45mins to get from All Stars to Polynesian. BUT, that I should give them up to one hour!!

This is the first time we'll be doing Disney by bus. It will be an experience for sure! It's hard not to cringe at the thought of it taking an hour to get from resort to park, but for future reference I'll get to know.

You should be at the bus stop around 6:20 AM. The first bus from All Star Movies for Magic Kingdom might leave around 6:30 AM, possibly a tad earlier. The next bus is likely to be 30 to 35 minutes later; these early runs don't run as often as eveyr 20 minutes.

There is no guarantee that the bus from All Star Movies will swing past Polynesian. If it does not then you must transfer tot he monorail or a small boat (possible 25 or so minute wait for that) at Magic Kingdom. There is a 5 minute walk from the bus station to the boat dock and monorail station.

'Ohana is at a resort, not at a park. Resort to resort trips require making a connection and the recommended travel time is 90 minutes.

We stayed at ASMu 2 years ago. We did the Ohana breakfast and took a cab. If you go to through the lobby you will see where there is a podium outside and if you look across the street there will be taxis waiting. Just tell the guy or gal that you want a cab and one will pull over immediately. about $20.00 but will bring you to exactly where you need to go. Also some cab companies are not legit so you need to be careful, but the cabs Disney calls over are legit.

... legit so you need ...
The official taxi company of WDW is either Yellow or Checker (I forget which). Both have the same parent company, Mears Transportation, which operates the Magical Express buses but not the Disney Transport park to resort buses.

FYI, Mears is phasing out their 3 separate taxi fleets, and gradually rebranding all the cabs as just "Mears Taxi".
