Starting to wonder if I made a mistake with this resort or not? I booked this resort at $66 a night after taxes. Only there from Feb 15th-20th. And looking for a place for me and DW to lie our heads down for the night. The thing is I never see anyone posting about this resort...is it just unpopular?

I'm a big sports fan. Anyone have suggestions for rooms at this resort?

I too had the same feeling when went to All Star Sports 2 yrs ago. Read all the reviews I could and had the feeling no one liked it!! I decided to keep an open mind and went with our original reservations. Boy, we were pleasantly surprised!! The room is small compared to the deluxes, but I thought very nice. It was clean, not run down in the least, mousekeeping was excellent. We got a room in the baseball section on the back side of the building. It was very quiet. We were never disturbed by outside noises. Not too far a walk to the food court or bus stop. The food court had a variety of selections of food.
Never had to wait in any long lines. We aren't really sports fans, but we found the ASSp to be a great place to stay and wouldn't hesitiate to stay again..especially with the great rates you can get!! :rockband:

We stayed there last summer for a few nights and really enjoyed our stay. If you go in knowing what to expect, a value resort, you wont be disappointed.
Our rooms were clean(even got towel animals), bus service was very good, love the convenience of the food court, and the theming is fun for sports fans.
We were in the football section which I feel is great. Its right between the 2 pools and next to the main building(food court/bus stop/gift shop...).

We stayed at ASSp in October 2003 and really liked it. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We were in the tennis section. We just got back from Pop and as far as value resorts go, I liked Sports better than Pop.

I like ASSports, the theming was good. The only "complaint" I guess is the toilets are a bit noisy but not extreme, you can tune them out.

And the bussing. IF you stay at sports its good because you will be the first to be picked up and dropped off. During our stay for some reason our bussing was always always always full and then to have to go to 2 more resorts after - geesh.

But the themeing was fun. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids that you can do around the resort. You get it at the front desk and when you complete it and turn it in you get a "prize".

It was fun!

We stayed there 12/5 to 12/10 this year and were very happy. Even with the Pop Warner group there it was a very pleasant place to stay. We booked the AP rate so paid about $55 with tax included (I think). About 4 days ahead of our arrival I called to check on my mom getting a handicapped room (heart problems) and when we got there we were in Surf's. I have never been so close to the main building - they were great. We were never charged the extra for staying closer.
Clean rooms, quiet rooms except for an occational toilet flush sound. I loved this resort. The whole time we were picked up first on the bus and dropped off first except for one creative driver who reversed the order when dropping us off!
One time we waited 15 minutes for a bus otherwise it was a short wait.
Food court was very busy but well kept up.
We have stayed in Music several times before but like Sports and would stay there again.

Great experience for us.

Football is also really close to the Food Court. Building 10 is closer than some of the priority rooms. They had to walk around the pool where we were right next to the back entrance. We've stayed there twice and it is first on our list of All-Stars. Best perk: first to be picked up/dropped off when the busses are combined.

I too was a worried when we stayed there two years ago because we had always had stayed at moderates or deluxes but we needed 2 rooms on this particular trip and picked Sports since we are all sports fans. I was very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Touchdown section and found it very convenient. Mousekeeping was great, the staff friendly and helpful, and no problems with transportation at all. It was a hit with dh too since we weren't spending big bucks for a room we were only in to sleep, shower, and change.

My husband and I want to try out All Star Sports our next trip in Jan. I am really glad that I found this link. Are there any information threads about this resort or a place I can see a lot of info at?? :grouphug:

You might check under the Disney Hotels link on the main wdwinfo.com page, I don't remember what heading it's under, but you can find a list of the resorts, then click on All Star Sports and there is info there, also on allearsnet.com under Accommodations, there is a page on info and pictures.

HTH, Steph

We stayed at All Star Sports, also in the Touchdown section. Our kids loved the Goofy pool, and I found everything convenient. As others have said, as long as you know what your getting, you'll be fine.

I'd stay there again - and I know in the future, we'll be needing two room - and we'll be back to the values to do that.

All star sports is excellent..we have stayed dozens of times.

The all stars are conveniently laid out, so no matter what building they put you in, you have just a few minute walk to all the action. The food court has better food than the moderates or pop.
