I've read conflicting reports so I came here for the definitive answer.

Are the touchdown buildings considered preferred?? I know the Surf's Up bldgs. are.

Thanks.

no just the surf

only movie and pop have several section that are preferred - the ones closest to the food court.

We've stayed at Sports twice in the past three months, and I can't imagine paying $10 extra for a preferred room. The resort is not spread out, so walks from regular rooms are not far. In addition, if there is a big group of young people there, there's a good chance they will be in the main pool making noise late at night. I'm pretty flexible, but I would have been pretty unhappy Dec. 22 if I had been paying for one of the "preferred" rooms. I walked to the laundry at about 11 p.m., and there were at least 100 or so teen boys in the pool, most of them yelling. My DS says that's pretty much what it looked and sounded like when he was there for grad, too.

The resort is fine, BTW. The rooms have been redone and are nicer now. A bit on the small side, of course.

When you say not far.... what exactly do you mean.

Here's why I ask.

My DS (8) is disabled and uses a wheelchair..... he can walk SHORT distances using a walker. We'll get him daily excercise by walking around the resort.

We've stayed at ASMo both in a preferred room and a regular room. The first time we were in the Fantasia building. The walk was almost too far for him to the foodcourt.... the walk to the pool was easy.

The second time we were in the Dalmation building on the other side of the elevators.... it was much too far of a walk for him to the pool or foodcourt.

We were looking at Sports because on the map it LOOKED smaller.... but since we've never been there I can't really compare.

Can you make a suggestion??? I'm willing to pay for a preferred room..... but my boys would REALLY love the TOUCHDOWN building. Or would a different resort be the best option?

I would appreciate feedback. Thanks!

This is just approximate - using maps.google.com's scale - but it's about 800 feet from the rooms closest to All Star Music, to the far diagonally-opposite corner of the resort.

Thanks. That really does help. I was looking at a few pictures of All Star Sports and even when you walk out of the main building it looks like the pool is much closer than it is a All Star Movies. I'm gonna take a chance at All Star Sports...... Worst case scenario is my DS won't be doing much walking to the foodcourt. Thanks!
