We will be headed to Disney is 7 days! We literally just booked this trip a week ago after finding out we cannot visit disney in march as we originally had planned. With that said, the only available hotel was All-star sports resort in a standard room with the pass holder discount. I have All-star booked right now mainly because it was only about $75 a night and with tax for the 4 nights came to $344. However, I now have someone willing to rent me their Saratoga Springs preferred studio for $540.

I cannot decide if it is worth the extra $196 to make this change or not. So, can you tell me what you guys think? Is the transportation better at either resort or amenities?...like is getting to disney springs easy and convenient and worth it or not really?

Side Note: We have not stayed at either resort and have mainly been staying on site with rented dvc points. Most recently we stayed at the Polynesian in November but we did stay at the Pop Century in September for a few nights. We did like the updated rooms at Pop but weren't in love with the resort mainly because of how far our room was away from the buses and main building.

Well ... sports could be a walk too since you say standard and the rooms have not been renovated in a long time, so not nice POP rooms and full beds. Def NOT near a deluxe level.

I’ve never stayed at Saratoga. But being able to walk to Disney Springs is a huge selling point. if money is tight go sports. If the extra cash for Saratoga is no big deal go there.

There's also boat transportation to and from Disney Springs from SSR which is quite nice as well. If it were me, I would definitely choose Saratoga Springs, it's a beautiful resort but quite large. Depending on where your building is located (there are multiple bus stops within the resort), you "may" find standing room only when the bus pulls into your stop. Even so, I think SSR is worth a try over All Stars. Good luck!

Great, thank you!! Is there a certain section you would suggest to stay in?

We have made our decision to go with SSR. While I haven't stayed at All-stars in years it seems like SSR is the better choice room wise.

If you'd prefer to stay near the restaurants and main pool, ask for the Springs. For the shortest walk to Disney Springs, Congress Park is good. You could also watch a few SSR youTube videos to get a better feel for the resort.

Will do, thank you so much for your help!

If the reservation is for preferred location, you will be either at the Springs or Congress Park. Congress Park will put you closer to Disney Springs. Springs will put you closer to High Rock Springs pool and the Carriage House. You'll have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. The kitchenette will have a microwave, toaster, coffee maker (10-12 cup Mr Coffee style and you'll need flat bottom basket style filters if you use more coffee than they leave - one pouch every four days with DVC).

I would switch. It’s the time of year with lots of teens from Brazil and cheerleaders for competitions who stay at All-Star resorts. Avoid them if possible.
