We want to be near the bus stop, food court, pool and laundry, in that order. What building should we request?

:sunny:

Buildings 7 and 10 touchdown section 1 of those buildings I can't remember which one is on same side as the main hall there is a short cut (unmarked) from that building to the bus stop.
The resort is actually designed so you have to go thru the main building where the food court is to get to the bus stop which isn't a bad walk from buildings 7 & 10. 7 & 10 are actually just as close as the preferred buildings which is 1 & 2 Surfs Up.

I didn't care for stayin on the playcourt tho to noisy there.

1 & 6 are the preferred buildings with 6 being non-smoking rooms. We were in 6, on the second floor with pool view. It was close and was not noisy. There is a map some where I will see if I can get the web-site.

Cool, thanks!

Is there only one laundry for the whole resort? Does that make it hard to do laundry?

The is only one laundry building. There are a bunch of washers and dryers. The cylce is only 30 minutes. I did laundry around 10pm, while I had a little swim and watched the kids. It wasn't too busy then. The magic price is $2.00-- for a washer or a dryer load.

I would second the touchdown section as the place to stay.

It is really right between the main pool (and food court) and the baseball pool. We have stayed in this section twice and found it really convenient.

There is only one bus stop, it is in front of the main building(same place as food court).

We stayed in Building 10, and we found it to be close to everything. To get to the bus, we learned to walk to the outside of the building and down the road, rather than along the inside (say, where the football field is), avoiding the food court and gift shop.

There is a 2nd laundry down at the baseball pool it's off on the right by the pool in between a couple of buildings but it's there. Just as big and nice or nicer than the one down at Surf's Up.

Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.

All Star Sports is at the top of the page.
The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!
