I want to know the difference between staying at All Star Sports, and All Star Music?

We stayed at POP last time and were not thrilled. We would like a less crowded and less kid hotel? We have 4 small kids, but we did not enjoy the all night pool parties last time. We would go to bed at midnight, but everyone else stayed up until about 4 or 5am in the pool, and surrounding areas, and then of course the music came on around 6am. :scared1: So even if its not kid friendly, it doesnt bother us.....

Thanks!

If you want less kids, you don't want to be at any value resort.

The Music has nicely renovated rooms - that would be enough for me to stay there over the Sports (which is my least favorite of any of the resorts on property). The Pop is my favorite value, and I don't have kids nor have I found it over-loud. Once I was staying in the Bowling Pin pool area (open the door, there is the pool) and it was pretty silent in the room.

In my experience, Music has the least amount of kids of all the Value resorts. It's a very peaceful resort.

I like Sports. it's the first bus stop of the three AS hotels, which to me makes a big difference. When heading to the park, you should always find seats. If you have to stand on the way back at night, you're the first ones off the bus.

Other than that, there really wasn't much difference.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned resort. It tends to be a lot quieter and more relaxing than the other values.
More couples stay at All Star Music and the adults usually outnumber the small children.

Dh and I think it is quite peaceful for couples.
We enjoy the lush landscaping( All Star Music has more landscaping and less cement than the other values) and peacefulness of All Star Music.

We enjoy spending some quiet time by the Rose Garden:

We enjoy relaxing by the pool (there are plenty of chairs and lounges), and the beautiful lighting at the resort by night.

All Star Music is undergoing a refurbishment of all of the rooms and is slated to be completed by June 2007.
The Calypso and Jazz buildings are completed and the last I heard they are working on the Broadway Buildings.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

we have stayed at all star sports with our DS7 and we are staying there again in September. We had a room overlooking the football field and we had no problem with noise.

We've stayed at the Music twice and our third trip is just around the corner...Woo Hoo!!!

We have never had a problem with noise and we always stay in the Calypso building which is right next to the main pool. Granted, we get third floor and it's usualy the back side, but if you make those requests, I can't see how noise would be a problem.

BTW, Calypso is preferred, so there is an extra charge for that.

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

Some guests report using a fan or a white noise helps them sleep better.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.

Have fun at Disney!

Thanks for all your suggestions. My DH calls these resorts a closet with a bathroom :lmao: . However, its one of the ways to afford going each year for us. I have stayed at all levels of hotels, but if we are in the parks 90% of the day it just isnt worth it to be at the deluxe. Music sounds like its for us! Away from the pool!

We were in Pop Century last year in September, and it was SOOOOOO busy. The noise was unreal. I woke up to "Rockin Robin" almost every morning at 6am, and went to bed only a few hours before because of all the pool play going on. I never heard the neighbors, but man....The pool....Never again. BTW, we were in the bowling pin 50s area facing the pool.:sad2:
