All Star Resorts Location

A TRAVEL AGENT TOLD ME THAT THE ALL STAR RESORTS ARE NOT REALLY INSIDE OF DISNEY AND I WOULD BE BETTER OFF STAYING IN KISSIMMEE, IS THIS REALLY TRUE? LOOKING AT THE WDW MAP OF ALL THE RESORTS, ALL STARS DO APPEAR PRETTY FAR AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE WDW HOTELS AND THE PARKS.

we stayed there in may of 2003 it was nice the rooms are kinda small, they are near the animal kingdom and you have to ride a bus to get every where. Buses didnt take any longer than driving, at least you dont get lost. We have a 6 and 8 year old and they loved it. you still get the disney atmosphere at the all stars. if you dont stay there chek it out next time you go. We would have stayed there again but we have too many going and are staying at the old key west villas this year.

The All Stars are on Disney Property. You use the very reliable Disney transportation system and once on your way, only take 10-15 minutes to get to the parks. The roads on Disney property dont' seem to suffer the same traffic congestion the other surrounding roads do, and it's a fairly painless, albeit often crowded, trip.

It's a great resort to stay at.

As far as staying in Kissimee, you would have to get through traffic to get to Disney roads, then head to the resort, park in the huge lot, then tram up to the front gate of the park. The Disney bus system pulls up near the front gates. Sorry, but I'm a little biased towards the simplicity of staying on site. What the Travel Agent is telling you isn't quite right.

Also, beware the off-site hotels who have 'free' transportation to the parks. Quite often, they are not even close to running as many busses to and from as Disney does, and at the end of the long day, you really don't want to be waiting an hour or so for a bus to pick you up for the commute home.

The resorts are inside of Disney. We stayed in the AS Movies resort a few years ago. 2 adults and 1 child. We had enough room, but they are smaller than most of the other Disney resorts. Still, they are clean, well kept, have a great theme, and are on the Disney transportation system.
They only benefit to staying off site would be to get a cheaper room. But the extra few dollars is well worth the 24hr magic.
