All-Star Music

Anyone stay at this property recently? DH, DS (22), and I are going in late September and have booked All-Star Music. However, I recently saw a review that was none too kind about the condition of the buildings and other public areas. We have stayed at Pop a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Over the years we have stayed at everything from value to moderate to deluxe. Each have their advantages and disadvantages but I definitely want to stay at a property that has been taken care of. Wondering if we should consider changing properties?

We stayed at ASMu in May in the Broadway Hotel. Since grandma and grandpa came, we got connecting rooms. Both were decent, can't complain. The fridge in our room was so quiet we thought it wasn't on; but our fruit was cold in the morning. We loved the theme and decor. The pools were so cold that I didn't want to swim. DN4 had a blast with my dad in the kiddy pool. We didn't get over to the Rock-n-Roll or Country areas so I can't coment on them.

I wouldn't change my hotel plans based on one review. The person could just had a single bad experience that clouds their opinion of the rest of the hotel. Check out the ASMu thread for good and bad info. Read a few more reviews before changing your mind.

like Music but love POP better there is the new AOA standard rooms be open 9/15 if you do not want a suite and want a new value resort

I stayed at the music this past febuary and thought is was very clean, most all buildings have been redone and look great, The only thing that was bad when we were there was, pom-pom girls contest week, there were young girls from all over the world there to compete, do you know how loud, 1000 plus young girls can be in the food court, not many of them knew how to clean up after themselves either, too much in a hurry to go back and play.
Other than the little girls noise, the resort itself was very nice, I would stay again.

My wife and I will be checking out tomorrow after a 10-day stay, and, overall, we think it's an OK place.

Pros:
- It's a value resort, so you can save some good money
- Relatively clean, and housekeeping does a good job

Cons:
- If you don't have children, they'll likely stick you at the back of the resort, farthest from the transportation center and food court
- It's loud and noisy, because of all of the families and kids
- Just tonight, we found a roach in our room
- Though housekeeping does a good job, their schedules have no rhyme or reason. One day they're coming by in the afternoon, the next day they're knocking on our door at 8 a.m.
- Lots of families stay at the value resorts, so that means buses fill up fast, so we were standing in buses for half of our rides

Would we stay here again? Eh, I don't know. It's overall fine, kind of like a La Quinta, but I think next time we'll just save a bit more and do a moderate resort.

We stayed at Music May 28-June 2 and we loved it. DH and I were alone on this trip and we still enjoyed it. I did not find it to be noisy at all. Had no problems whatsoever, no complaints whatsoever. ASMovies is my fave value resort but we like to swap them out from stay to stay - DS23 prefers ASMusic and DS17 prefers POP, DH doesn't care as long as the bed is good, lol. I think you will like it there and I hope that you have a magical stay!

We are staying there in August and our theory is...why pay a ton of money if most of your time is spent in the parks?

It'll be my DH and I, plus our 2 DD's ages 10 and 6. We've stayed at other resorts (AKL, WL) but opted for the AS resorts our last 3 trips since we felt we were hardly ever in the room. If we want to visit another resort....we have that option.

I was there May 26-June 2. I thought the resort was great. I was in Calypso building 1 in a family suite. While I was there they were updating the rooms in this building. They were painting and putting up new wallpaper and new curtains and bedspreads. I stopped and looked in a standard room and it looked really good. I didn't see a family suite that had been redone but I did see workers carrying a new sofa.

i am going to Music in 6 days and will let you know when i get back...
so far i have stayed in JAZZ, BROADWAY AND CALYPSO sections and have asked for Rock and Roll this time...although when i get there i may ask if there is a preffered room available and switch if they will let me pay the difference. i didnt choose preffered from the beginning since it is Calypso section and i have stayed there already.

i have stayed in sports also ...football (2x) and movies Herbie, fantasia and mighty ducks....

and Pop Century 3x

i have found all value resorts amazing. prices are just right especially since i would rather stay longer periods of time (10 days this time) and relax and enjoy the trip instead of a pricer resort (have stayed at moderate resorts with friends - cheaper to share the cost) esp since i spend more time in the parks or checking out the other resorts.

kids love it because of the cool themes
