Does anyone know which building at the All Star Music is the preferred? I book All Star Movies but someone screwed up and I ended up with Music. Also, for the people who stayed at Music, is this one nice. I had my mind set on the movies and now I am a little down about this.

I believe Calypso is the preferred building at ASMu now, although there was no such thing as preferred when I was there last year. We stayed in Jazz which is right next to Calypso. This was a great location; situated right between the two pools and not too far to walk.

I was concerned about staying there too, but it was fantastic! The theming was cute, the buses were awsome, the pools were fun and the food court was yummy! Don't worry, just have fun!!!:D

Don't fret. Calypso is the "prefered" building, but we stayed in Jazz Inn and it was much quieter. Calypso borders the pool and it can get a bit noisy there at night. Just one set of buildings down is Jazz and it was nice and quiet (except our last night with the wild party going on until 6 am!)

Did you try calling back and explain it to someone (go higher up if need be) that you had been told you were in Movies and you were surprised to see your reservations in Music? Sometimes they have rooms available even when they say the don't or they may even upsell you (if you make a big enough fuss) to a nicer resort.

As for Music, I LOVE IT! I love staying OP and even at the budget hotels. There is detail everywhere and you won't be disappointed.

Enjoy your stay and I hope you got the Mousekeeper we got - she was great!

I booked it with AAA and they called Disney. They said Movies is all booked. The only thing I can do is when I check I can tell them my problem and maybe they can get me in the Movies. I just did not want to waste a lot of time checking in. My son says he does not care so maybe I will just stay in the Music. Thanks for replying.

Good attitude to a bad situation. AAA should have known enough to get a second or third choice if your first wasn't available. When we stayed at ASMu we drove over the last day and visited ASMo TS building. The kids had a blast and it was just as good as staying there according to them. We never stay in our rooms much except to sleep and get ready in the mornings so we don't feel like we missed out on anything.

We have stayed at the Music & Movies and prefer the Music. You will have a wonderful time! When we were there we stayed in the Calypso buildong(now preferred)but on the back side so it was very quiet. We never had a problem with noise or anything else.

We have always had a great time staying at ASMUSIC. we stayed here again last year and really enjoyed the resort. I know a lot of people will not stay at the All Stars, but for us the price means we can stay more days at WDW each year so it is worth it to us. We have also stayed at AllStar Sports and enjoyed it to.

I know exactly how you feel; we tried and tried to get a room at ASMO for a week last May and settled for ASMU. This was our first trip to an All Star resort so we had to go with an open mind and it worked out fine - although our daughter got food poisoning during the week and spent two whole days in the room vomiting and I couldn't get our housekeeper to understand that I needed new bed linens several times - she kept bringing us towels!! We ended up spending much more time at the resort than we wanted to but overall it was fine - the grounds were very pretty and the room very quiet and in a peaceful location with bunnies just outside in the courtyard :smooth: I went for a long walk one afternoon while my husband took over nurse duties and walked all around ASSP and ASMO and I definitely liked movies the best and my youngster would have too but we'll save it for a future trip. As long as you are all healthy you won't spend much time there anyway and you can always visit the other resorts. Either way have a great trip!:p

Glad to hear all these good comments. I just booked Music for New Year's Eve. Transfering to CR through SOG on the 1st. I am already excited!!!!

We are leaving in 14 days for ASMU and I wanted to stay in the Jazz buildings. We were at ASSP last year for our 2 sons, it was fun, but I walked through Music and thought it was so pretty. Anyway, my husband had me request the Boardwalk buildings at Music. I think it is too far, and not such a pretty setting. He thinks it would be good for our boys ages 7 and 4 1/2. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Maria

Do you mean the Broadway buildings? If so, dh and I stayed there in May, and we *loved* it. Far enough away from the main pool to be quiet, but not too far. Plus the piano pool is right there. I loved our room -- we faced the courtyard with the Beauty & the Beast ticket windows. Not sure why your dh would think it was especially "boy-appropriate" though....I think that maybe boys might prefer the Rock Inn w/the giant jukeboxes, etc.

At any rate, we really like the ASMu, and hope you have a great trip!

We stayed at All Star Music for the first time this past February. We did not request any certain location - we ended up in the Broadway section & really enjoyed it!!! We were on the main street by the Beauty & the Beast Box Office. There were 8 of us - 5 adults & 3 grandchildren ages 6 months & two of them were 4 years old. We had rooms with the doors between & it worked out great. (We usually stay at the Caribbean.) We walked over to Movies so that the 4 yr. olds could see Andy's Room etc. I don't think that it is worth the extra money to stay at a 'preferred location'. Yes, you are closer to the food court & bus stop, but you always have people walking past your door - if you are on the ground floor, that could get noisy!! The kids enjoyed the game room - we had no complaints about the food court - nice variety. We will be taking the two 4 yr olds with us & are again staying at the All Star Music in December -- that is after we go 'alone' for our 35th Wedding Anniversary in October!! YES, we are hooked on Disney!!!!!! ºoº ºoº

Thanks DiznEeyore and K,P & J's Grandma. I did mean Broadway. I will talk to DH about the other building you suggested, but you both make Broadway sound like a lot of fun. DH thought the kids would get a kick out of the street scene and the cars parked in the street. I like the idea of being by the quiet pool. We were right outside the quiet pool at Sports last year and it was Great. We figured the walk to the food court would be about the same from Broadway as it was from our Sports building.

Thanks for your help.:Pinkbounc
