We've decided to flip- flop our trips and do a deluxe in Sept and value in Nov.

We stayed at ASMo in Jan. We really liked it. Maybe because there is so much negativity out there about the value resorts. We weren't expecting much. We paid $49 a night and thought it was great for that price.

We would like to try ASMu next.

I would like to be close to the pool and food court. Is it worth it to pay for Calypso or should we request another section?

How is the food court? I thought the one at ASMo was much better than CBR.

Any other info appreciated!!!

We stayed at the All Star Music last August and we liked it well enough to go again this June. We stayed in the Jazz Inn section. It's the next building past Calypso from Melody Hall. I don't think it would have been worth the extra $ to stay in Calypso. Our room was on the third floor and was quiet enough for us. The pool view rooms look like they might be noisy. We didn't eat at the food court but it looked like basic stuff. I think the food at the Movies has had better reviews. We really made use of our refillable mugs though. The walk to the food court was definately less than five minutes. Hope this helps!

I stayed at the All-Star Music in March 2001. We had a room with two double beds in Broadway Hotel, building 7, on the second floor with a view of the Broadway courtyard. We were able to get a rollaway bed in the room for an additional $16.80 per night (including taxes). The room was in good condition, closest possible to the parking lot (which, to us, was a plus). However, it was a hike to the main building/food courts. I wouldn't call it a very long walk, but the resort is very spread out (compared to the compact deluxes). It is more spread out than the other values, too.

I visited both food courts (ASMu & ASMo - as it was just across the parking lot and thru the courtyard from our room) and I actually liked ASMu's better. :) They had different foods, and it seemed a little larger (not sure if that is really the case).

And, yes, I would definetly stay at ASMu again. :)

My DGD and I really enjoyed ASMu...we were in Jazz Building. I wounldn't want to be any further away than Jazz though. The only thing is if you didn't pay for the prefered, you might get stuck in one of the buildings that are pretty far away. If it were me I'd pay the extra $10 to guarantee closeness to buses/foodcourt etc. For quietness you could request a room on opposite side from the pool.

I faxed our rooms requests last Monday 5/13 for our arrival on Thursday around noon. We actually arrived around 12:30 and our room was ready!! We got everything we asked for - Jazz building #9 third floor corner room. This was our first stay at a value resort and we pretty much got what we expected out of it. It was really cute as were all of the value resorts - I walked through each one of them one afternoon while my daughter was recovering from food poisoning :( The Jazz buildings are very convenient to both pools - the guitar pool is heated by the way - piano was a bit chilly. The damper on our trip was the weather - it rained hard yesterday morning and the rest of the time it always threatened rain so we were always looking up in the sky to decide whether or not to bring ponchos with us - we hate those things! The food court was well....o.k. nothing to brag about. Despite what I had read about reasonable prices for good food we found it to be pretty expensive and just o.k. quality. The cast members were really nice though and the mugs certainly are a good deal. All in all; we may stay at an All Star again sometime if the price is right again but we prefer the moderates or Wilderness Lodge (for location). My daughter loved the place and had she felt better would have loved seeing the Movies buildings and the Sports sections as well. She'd go back in a heartbeat:p

I stayed there when they first opened. I was put in the Calypso building and I didn't have to pay extra. I love the location to the food court. I would spend the extra $$$$$ I don't think it is that much and well worth it.:)

The Jazz Inn is great and really not very far. We have stayed in every area of the All Star Music and truly, our favorite is Broadway. It seems further on the map than it is because you can walk between the Jazz and Calypso to get to the front. It is far enough away from the pools to seem secluded, but not so far you feel like you are walking. Another thing to think about is acutal room assignment. For instance, the back of building 10 is no closer than the front of building 9. When you check in, request that they position you to your liking in your building whichever it may be.:) Have Fun!:D

..we stayed at Music! (1996). Since than, I have gone alone, and usually stay at Sports!(last 5 trips). June 22-25 I will be staying at Music! 31 more days to GO!:bounce: (this is my 4,000 Post!).:D

We had a room in the Jazz building last June and loved the location. We didn't have to worry about the noise from the pool. The food court was pretty good and the picky kids could always find something they liked.
