Hi!!! I already booked our trip for Nov. 28 thru Dec. 7th of '08. It will be myself, dh, dd9, dd16 and dd best friend16, we booked at Poly but now we're considering staying at the All stars Music suite, I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons. Of course All Stars will save us about 1500, and give us more space for the kiddos. But then again the Polynesian is the POLYNESIAN!!!:yay:

Please give me your ideas on what you would do.

With the age of the girls, I think all of you would be more comfortable (for privacy issues) at ASMu Family Suites.

I agree.

Here is a little info about the Family Suites.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

--------------------------------------------------------------
*** They are 520 square feet.

*** The Family suites are located in the Jazz and Calypso buildings at All Star Music.(these are the closet buildings to the food court and the bus stop.

*** They cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL.

***1-6 adults may stay in a suite for the same set price.
(There is an additional fee of $10 per night for a 3rd or 4th additional adult in a standard value room.)

*** They have a QUEEN size bed (the other values and even the mods do not have a queen bed.

***The fridge is included (if you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would need to pay $10 extra for a night for a fridge if you wanted one.

*** They come with a microwave and coffeepot (If you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would not even be be able to rent a microwave and coffeepot.

***They have 2 TV's (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 TV)

***They have 2 bathrooms (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 Bathroom.)

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Thank you sooooo much! I love the suite, I think I am going to change our plans to this. I love the fact that the kids have their own space, the pics on the link are great. Plus we'll save a pretty good chunk of change.

I agree w/the PPs - definitely the ASMu - more privacy & 2 tvs & 2 bathrooms - the older girls could have their own. We've been looking at the suites as well for our trip in 2009. DH doesn't like the "look" but to me its more of a financial issue along w/our needs would be met. Love the kitchenette area & with 3 young kids I could have lots of snacks, and a lot more room, etc. It is definitely on our list of resorts but its a very long list. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time deciding but we have a while. Have a wonderful trip and happy planning.

I've been researching ASM suites for a long time along w/some other resorts. Too many on my list;) Just a couple questions if you don't mind:

Do they help w/luggage at ASM? We'd be traveling w/3 young kids and lots of stuff so we'd need help at check out. ME would take care of the luggage upon arrival.

I remember reading that DDP wasn't eligible w/the suites. Do you know if this has changed?
Thanks a bunch!
Joanne

The suite. Yes, the extra room is great, but I can't imagine sharing one room and two beds with 3 kids ~ 2 of them 16! Also the two bathrooms will really come in handy in that situation.

On the other hand, I would REALLY recommend an off-site condo or pool house if transportation isn't an issue. You could get 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. Last year was our first year off-site and it was our best! We loved all the space!!!:wizard:

My family is also considering the ASMu Family Suites for our trip in May 2009. I'm wondering what the best rate anyone has found on the suites. Do they offer AAA or other discount codes on these rooms?

TIA!

DDP - yes, you can get it with the suites. We are going in January with DDP.
